If this concerns you, you can also follow them on Instagram or Facebook. |
1) The Board of Education is an elected body. It is, by definition, political. Whatever is your point? 2) Whatever are you prattling on about calling a preference for Bluesky over X being “political.” That doesn’t even make sense. You have a very peculiar outlook on things, pp. |
Who knows? Who cares? They’re certainly welcome. What are you driving at exactly? |
Although BlueSky MAY technically be a neutral site I don't think any Republicans are on it. So nope no Republicans. Oh I forgot there are RINOs who could be there but no true Republicans. |
(1) That's on them. (2) So what? If Republicans don't want to be on Bluesky, then they can see the BoE social media posts on Facebook or Instagram, or they can use one of the multiple other forms of communication used by the BoE |
Come on man. |
Do you consider DCUM to be neutral? |
This. |
| They should post on their own website instead of hiding from the public. |
If Elon decides to takeover BlueSky, then there'll probably be more Republicans... |
| The BOE posts on social media to try and reach more people than just posting on their own website. I don’t know any elected officials/groups that do not use social media these days. Facebook is old and plenty of adults for better or worse do use it. It seems pretty entrenched. Instagram make sense as well. Neither X nor Bluesky make sense to me as a needed platform. Both now have limited appeal with one leaning right and one left. But, it is up to the elected BOE to sort what platforms are most likely as an entirety to reach the MCPS public and given how left leaning our area is it makes more sense to include bluesky than x. Since they also post on FB and Instagram, it is not like they are forcing the public who want to follow them on social media to join bluesky. Of everything facing MCPS the move from x to bluesky as a third social media outlet for following them seems pretty unimportant. |
It is objectively weird to pretend X is not extremely relevant. I dislike Musk but I am not delusional about the relevancy of X. If anything, the influence is growing. |
It's the right thing to do these days. Twitter knowingly pushes misinformation and does far more harm than good. It's not about politics just good sense. |
It stopped being relevant when it the veracity of information cannot be trusted. This is like saying Russian troll farms are relevant since that's what you're getting from Twitter. |
Absolutely, it's an anonymous forum without editorial. The form is neutral. The people who post here may have their personal bias but it's simply personal. |
