It requires no action at all.

If they hadn't announced it, OP would have complained about politics and lack of transparency.

So instead they announced it, and OP complained about politics and lack of transparency.

build your own bot that copies their posts onto Twitter.

I think it's just to make sure people aren't wondering when they're going to update or they're behind on updating?

Twitter is pretty much crap these days, anyways. All I get are clickbait threads designed to make money for their posters. Mr Nobody, Darshak Rana, Nungua Burnaboy - who are these people and why are they top on my Twitter thread? At least give me news and information that is about something I care about !

OP here and I think they should post on both. The goal should be to reach the greatest amount of people, not less. Their twitter page has 10,000 followers. Bluesky has 25.

The idea of them dropping Twitter doesn’t bother me nearly as much as them continuing to spend resources keeping Bluesky, Facebook, and Instagram updated. They have a website. They have phone systems in place that can deliver messages to parents, individually and en masse, as needed. They send home printed materials. They coordinate with local news agencies. Why do they need to be on social media at all?

I do not use any social media and navigate MCPS (and the rest of life) just fine

Of which approximately 9,820 are bots or dormant accounts.

They just set up their Bluesky account 6 hours ago. And hey look, there are already two replies from accounts I'm going to block!

They abandoned X and they are on Bluesky, yes they are political!

The members of the Board of Education are elected officials, so yes, of course they are political, by definition. If you disapprove of this decision, you can express your disapproval by voting against any incumbents who run for re-election in 2026.

It was much easier to follow Twitter posts when it was Twitter. As X, you pretty much need an account to follow posts. Many organizations are doing the same because the availability to follow posts is not there for non account holders anymore.

Yeah, thank you Elon for slaughtering Twitter to death. We truly do not love you!

Twitter, which used to be a neutral platform, has itself become highly political.

Exactly, which is why many people have already migrated to using BlueSky. I generally remember Twitter back in 2020 during COVID was more neutral until Elon made the bad decision to takeover the platform.

Is there a single Republican on BlueSky?
