No good team is taking randos right now 'for free'. Friendlies are of course a thing. Full teams having random floater kids come to them in August is not the norm or a thing.

Copa Reyados is really the only worthwhile one in this area where good teams have a chance to play good teams (ECNL and MLS next level). If they are smart, they line teams up against teams they don't regularly play (i.e. MLS next against ECNL or ECNL/MLS Next against teams outside their direct region). If they want to keep getting return teams they should be doing it that way. nobody wants to play a preseason tournament against a team they will play in 1-3 weeks time. Last year it was pretty decent competition.

if you are willing to travel to PA, Spirit Kickoff by Delco is pretty good. I know they need a few more teams. For 2011's they already have 4 or 5 GA/ECNL, a ton for ECRL/NAL(GA Rising). Looking at the girls brackets for 2 weeks from now, they need 1 high level and 1 low level 2011G (already have 50 teams, just for flighting, they need these 2 teams), 2 high level 2012G (already have 42 teams), 1 low level 2013G (46 teams)
