| Mac n cheese cupcakes - individual mac n cheese servings made in a cupcake pan. I guess it is a hit because it maximizes the crust part. |
It comes off with a little effort. I husk it before cooking and it just takes a minute to pull off - I am sure if cooked it's even easier, even if not warm. |

Old school but DD went through an ants on a log phase - celery sticks with peanut butter (or sunbutter) in the cavity, and some raisins stuck on top. Took a bit of creativity in packing to get it to her without making a mess, but she is very neat. I could never have sent that for DS even if he liked it, because it would have gotten all over his backpack when he was done.
We use a compartmented bento-style lunch box to be able to send a variety of stuff (usually protein, bread, fruit, and vegetable). I think it's the Bentgo. Has held up very well for the past 18 months. I like someone's dumpling idea. I should try that for DS. He is a much more limited eater than DD and usually just takes PB&J, cheese, and fruit, but he might go for dumplings and rice as an alternative. |

DH likes to barbecue so we've gone through phases where I put pulled pork or brisket in a thermos on top of rice or mashed potatoes. My middle kid also went through a mashed potato phase where she'd want a thermos full of "mashies" as part of her lunch.

We are big fans of the bare naturals nuggets for school lunches in our house
TJ’s meatballs go over well, too As well, aidells chicken apple sausages We have nut allergies so PB is out for us, have not been able to convince the kids to like hummus, beans or sunbutters to date. |
When I was a kid, one of my favorites was sandwiches with white bread, margarine, and chicken Rice a Roni. |
tuna salad is an old staple. It’s fine. (DP) |
That sounds like a stuffing sandwich which is also pretty weird when you think about bread with more bread. |
| My kids love breakfast type foods so one day out the week we always do eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit and syrup |
| #1 lunch food for DD is Taquitos. The ones from Costco (it has to be that one). The odd one here is the rice from TJ's lamb vindaloo, with their masala burger. She also likes the Quinoa bowl from TJ's; says it tastes like Chipotle. |
More than one person mentioning pasta salad as well. Beware, class conscious people. If you want your kids to have UMC or higher values, avoid sending them to school with pasta salad. Lest they decide they like it and regularly eat it, or potentially get ridiculed by the cool kids. |
Do you send the eggs and bacon cold or in a thermos? |
| My kids love olives, pickles, salami, cheese cubes, etc. |
Old money can safely send pasta salad. New money would never. |
