Corn on the cob is a big lunch time hit with my kids. In the summer, they used to do outdoor camps and I'd send it unshucked. If I was sending it to school, I'd shuck it because no one wants silk flying around the cafeteria. For some reason, one of my kids liked sandwiches made with whole grain waffles for a long time.
What? You send uncooked corn to camp for lunch? Are you a troll or are you crazy?
No, I microwave it in the husk, and then they husk it at camp.
Oh, this is how I serve it at home. I’m not sure what happens if it’s cold, but when it’s warm, all of the silk and husk comes off in one pull.
It comes off with a little effort. I husk it before cooking and it just takes a minute to pull off - I am sure if cooked it's even easier, even if not warm.
