For some reason, one of my kids liked sandwiches made with whole grain waffles for a long time.

What? You send uncooked corn to camp for lunch? Are you a troll or are you crazy?

No, I microwave it in the husk, and then they husk it at camp.

Oh, this is how I serve it at home. I’m not sure what happens if it’s cold, but when it’s warm, all of the silk and husk comes off in one pull.

I am confident I could husk an ear of microwaved corn and not make a mess.

I did not have the same confidence in my 5-7 year olds.

I just made pretzel calzones that were a big hit. You make a regular calzone and dip them in a solution of warm water (about 6 cups + 1/4c baking soda). It makes the outside look and taste like a pretzel

Should have added - dip BEFORE you bake!

You guys make some fancy lunches.

Unbelievable that you would send someone out into public with fish AND mayo.

Dolmas are the biggest hit with my kids. We buy them at Trader Joes.

My kids also love the TJs Dolmas for their lunch.

We also make pizza muffins. Use pizza dough/sauce/cheese, pepperoni, but put them in muffin tins with liners. Dough first and make a little well, then sauce then the other stuff. Kids will take two or three depending on how big they make them.
