Swim Skirts

Lands End

This. Nike swim shorts is my go to, they have a small zippered pocket in the waistband, do not look frumpy.
I wear tops from Carve Designs.

I'd rather wear a swim skirt (I have the Summersalt, it's cute, especially when worn with the one shoulder midkini top) than saggy swim shorts. They look very much like people have given up.

Skirts float up in the water so I don't see how that fixes the bikini line issue.

When I see people wearing things like that, I just assume they have either had or are at risk for skin cancer (or burn easily).

I have that too! I have a ton of moles and burn super easily. So then it’s legit?! I’m going for it.

I used to do swim skirts but switched to shorts due to the float up in water problem. I like the atheta ones best but also have lands end ones, which have a little more tummy suck-in situation. I wear them with bikini tops if I'm wearing a rash guard (I have serious middle aged mom stomach so generally won't walk around with my belly showing), or a sporty tankini. It basically feels like something you'd wear to play tennis or jog in, but can also swim in very practically or play volleyball or whatever on the beach. The ones I have don't bunch weirdly -- I think the longer board shorts can look a little weird if you're not model thin.

And for PP that said a good electric trimmer is life changing -- can you recommend one? I'd like to get one. I've broken up with my hair dresser and feel weird going back to the same salon for waxing! (It's a Seinfeldian situation.)

different poster - but i started using that braun home laser thing on my bikini line and it has been transformative. i used to shave and either had hair or razor burn - i started using that braun thingie last year and i now feel totally comfortable in a regular bikini. doesn't hurt much either.

I have an older version of these from Garnet Hill: https://www.garnethill.com/ruched-swim-skirt/swimwear/womens/481842?listIndex=1&uniqueId=481842&isNewProduct=false

Mine are very straight/fitted w/o the ruching, so they don't ride up at all.

Why, because someone with goggles might swim up and discover that women grow pubic hair?

If a woman doesn’t care if people see her hairy bikini line that is a different conversation than OP who is looking to keep that area covered. Shorts offer more coverage for those who want that.

I support the sun coverage, but I’d have a hard time getting that off and on to pee.

My RIP skirt saved me on a camping vacation when I snagged my bikini bottom on a nail on the dock I was sitting on the edge of. My bottom tore from the gusset to the waist band and had it not been for my RIP skirt, I’d had been bottomless. Wearing my RIP skirt allowed me to enjoy the rest of the day despite being commando. I played it off like nothing happened. Thank you Rip Skirt

I hate swim shorts. My thighs don’t rub but they just ride up. They’re uncomfortable. I like the idea of a skirt so that I could run around after my toddlers easier.

But about the bikini line issue- get laser! It was only a few hundred dollars. I’m pleased with it. Try Groupons.

No one is looking at your crotch under water.

+1 they look sooooo much better than the skirts, which always came across as very Grandma to me.

Oh wow, I think board shorts look worse - they drip, drip, drip and look so bad when they cling to your butt and show your wedgie. They are really meant to be worn as cover ups, not while swimming.

+1 They both look awful, shorts look awful and goofy.

Laser hair removal. Hasn't everyone done this? Why not?
