I have both skirts and dresses from Lands End and Summersalt. Love them.

Only if you want to look like a middle aged lesbian.

I am a middle aged lesbian so truth in advertising I guess? I love shorts and find them much more comfortable than the skirt I used to have but only OP knows what she likes on her body.

Oh wow, I think board shorts look worse - they drip, drip, drip and look so bad when they cling to your butt and show your wedgie. They are really meant to be worn as cover ups, not while swimming.

No, proper board shorts - as in surfboard, as in intended to be worn while surfing - do not do this. They are made from technical fabric that don’t hold water to drip for any longer than bathing suit material does. They do not cling unless they are poorly made, as proper board short fabric is woven and has just enough structure to it to not do that.

Nor are they intended as cover ups, as in to cover a bathing suit. They are intended as an athletic garment for surfing, and make a fine option for swimming or whatever else.

Not even touching the homophobia they apparently engendered here. JFC.

This subforum has such weird, and uninformed, ideas. It makes me wonder if the average person on the street is similarly informed.

What did board shorts ever do to you? You seem quite upset by this.

Not upset, just baffled by some of the takes upthread.

I have board shorts from both Athleta and Title Nine. They work well. And don't look dowdy. They dry quickly and are useful. No weird floating up around me in the pool and I can also do laps. I wear either a bikini top or bikini top + tight rash guard. Swim skirts very quickly age people IMO.

Laser doesn’t work well on blondes.
