| Over the top crass! In a country where people are literally starving in the street to have this level of ostentatiousness is disgusting. |
Aren't Gates and Zuckerberg richer than the Indian families? Who knows why they attended but I'm sure they had a great time. |

Yes. No weddings allowed in India until the poverty problem is solved. Never mind that this wedding also provided meals to over 50,000 villagers. |

I know that over-the-top wedding festivities are a part of the culture, but... it just seems kind of tone-deaf to be doing this in 2024. The fist-sized jewels, the insanely intricate garments, fireworks, etc... I can't help but think about the people who worked and sacrificed to provide these products. Have they been fairly compensated?
I think we know the answer to this... |
| It just makes me think we need to get rid of all billionaires worldwide. |
There are slums literally yards from the wedding venue. |
I hear what you’re saying but we should want rich people to spend their money and get it back into the economy. The last thing you want is rich people that just sit on their money. I’m sure every vendor, person hired, villager at free feast (I saw they were having multiple days of free food for local villagers) is happy. I used to see it from your perspective, and personally I’d prefer something simpler even if rich, but now I see the trickle down that benefits local people. |
I think that’s been tried already at least in individual countries and guess what happened. The people that got rid of the billionaires are now the billionaires. |
Uh that’s not what I’m saying. This is a crass display of money. There is no need for this level of tacky. It’s over the top tacky. |
Please. Trickle down is all that those “untouchable” people will ever experience. |
Yes it’s India. (My SIL lives in Delhi.) |
| All that money and the bride and groom look that bad? Yikes. |
The bride is beautiful. |
All that money and he couldn't get in shape. The poor bride. |
