Untrue, in this country you can be married to a person of the same gender. Nowhere in the bible does it say they can't be married. You can try and spin Matthew 19:6 but it just doesn't say it there or in Genesis either.

Jesus never said that. Nor does your actual quote, either by itself or in context. Paul felt that unmarried people could focus less on the world, and more on their purpose in Christ, but he understood that most people want to have a sexual relationship on their lives and that trying to live celibate would be an actual hindrance. Read the Bible before you correct others.

I’m the PP who said it’s a nonconfirming act outside marriage. This poster is correct. It’s not a sin because it’s outside marriage, it’s a sin because the homosexual act is a sin. It also happens to be outside marriage but it is also a sin because of the act itself.

Don’t you ever question why a merciful god would create a class of people whom he denies entirely one of the most essential aspects of being human, namely the love of a partner all things including sexual life? And yes I know priests and nuns live (or are supposed to live) celibate lives but they get to choose that. No one gets the choice whether to be gay or not. How would you think about it if it turns out there’s a passage in the Bible that says someone born missing a limb is not allowed to get married and any sexual relationship with that person is a sin? Or red heads - what if the Bible banned them from getting married and said it was a sin. Would you be in agreement over that? Or just think about some intrinsic characteristic you were born with, if the Bible says you could not marry because of that characteristic because otherwise it’s a sin, would you have said ok and decided to abide by that?

It just boggles the mind that a merciful god would be so cruel to so many humans as to deny them physical love because of an unchanging characteristic that those people did not choose for themselves. If god disapproves of gay people why did he create them?
