Troll fail.

Excuse me? Do you mean the person claiming it’s literally impossible to change into shoes at their school is a troll?

“Garbage excuse for a school” because kids can’t change boots? Where do expect them to do it, in the crowded hallway or locker area while standing up? Go away crazy lady.

How sad that your child lacks the dexterity to change boots in a crowded hallway or while standing up. You should prioritize exercise if they’re already this physically incompetent.

I don’t know anyone who can put on and tie tennis shoes standing up. Moreover, there isn’t enough time to change shoes before the bell rings.

I can and I am a middle aged woman. You must hang out with incredibly unhealthy people. BUT, what if little Larla put the shoes on her feet (maybe with the laces tucked in so they don’t drag) and then, crazy idea, ties them when she inevitably sits down?

And the solution to not having enough time is: Get to school earlier. Duh.

Really, I’m surprised some of you people can even navigate your way out of bed in the morning.

It’s clear you are trolling now. It seems most kids do fine wearing tennis shoes and don’t need the hassle of changing from boots to shoes at school. And I suppose their wet soaked boots would go in their locker? Which barely holds their backpack?! Lol.

As opposed to their wet soaked boots being on their feet all day and tracking snow/mid throughout the school? Unsafe, unhealthy, and just plain gross.

So how are tennis shoes any different?!

There is no difference. Your shouldn’t be wearing wet boots OR shoes around all day (although with tennis shoes it is much more likely that your feet will be soaked than with boots).

Just change your freaking shoes, you animals.

Fair enough, but please tell them to watch out for ice spots of carry some salt! There are going to be some pretty bruised up kids today, hopefully no broken bones.

Carry salt?! I’m fortunate to have the resources to outsource as much as possible, so I hired a Sherpa to get my child ti and from school safely in this weather.

How are they supposed to change their shoes without a locker? Do you propose their carry their boots around all day while at school?

DS has been wearing hiking boots. He is able to do PE in them.

What do the kids at these locker free schools do with their coats? Hats? Gloves? Do the same thing with the boots.

One more time... TEENS don't wear coats or boots to school! They wear hoodies or maybe a packable puffer jacket they can shove in their backpack.

My kids go to Chantilly HS (no lockers for them). If they wear hats and gloves, then they put those in their backpacks. They do not wear heavy coats nor boots because those will not fit into their backpacks. They are cold for about 15 min to/from school, but they just deal with that since they cannot stash heavy winter wear anywhere at the school.

Um, wearing boots is not necessarily going to prevent slipping on ice any more than regular shoes with decent traction.

Boots are for when you are outside walking through snow or playing in snow or sledding or whatever.

My teens are happy to wear boots for those activities.

lol
I went to elementary school they made all girls wear boots on snow days and dresses with tights. Long Island New York.

Yes in the locker area while standing up. Presumably teens are in good enough shape that bending down isn’t life threatening

When my kids were in preschool, they wore snow boots to school and changed shoes when they got there. They left their boots in their cubbies, below their coats. It was adorable.

Now that they are teens, they don't wear boots or coats to school. Where would they put them?

Same way we did it in elementary school. Same way states that have two feet of snow do it. The same way girls who wear the bargain basement Uggs in high school do

So dramaric

What’s with the dramatics? Are you for real? Carry salt?? No one is going to be carrying salt and spreading it on a tiny ice latch before stepping on it. They can step around. Sidewalks are pretty much clear where we are and if not, drive them. Broken bones??

How old are you. Kids don't get injured when they fall lime older adults do.

We don't get two feet of snow here anymore. We won't ever again.
