Teens need boots

Anonymous
I know everyone chooses their battles and I am lucky my teen is willing to be different. It just was painful to see when I was stopped at a traffic light, the rare teen with boots walking on one patch that had some ice was fine, but almost all the kids with sneakers slid and some fell. Maybe the natural consequence will convince them. I'm sure the parents tried.

Boots at school isn’t possible when it’s PE day. No one has the time or place to change shoes at school. I drove my kid (in shoes) so they could avoid the icy patches.

+1

My kids have snow boots that they wore while sledding. At school, including going to and coming from school, they wear shoes. Even when there's snow on the ground.

The school is so hot and the kids don't get lockers so even getting a jacket on is a battle. I'd hate to wear heavy boots all day at work.

No kids want to wear boots all day; I know my kid won’t.

I ran errands today and wore Converse. If I survived, I’m pretty sure teens can, too

Fair enough, but please tell them to watch out for ice spots of carry some salt! There are going to be some pretty bruised up kids today, hopefully no broken bones.

What’s with the dramatics? Are you for real? Carry salt?? No one is going to be carrying salt and spreading it on a tiny ice latch before stepping on it. They can step around. Sidewalks are pretty much clear where we are and if not, drive them. Broken bones??

How did we all survive as kids without extra salt?!!

What kind of garbage excuse for a school doesn’t have a place for kids to change out of boots?!

I now live in a snowier place than the DMV. Vans makes a pair of boots DS will wear even to school (leaves gym shoes in school locker): https://www.vans.com/en-us/shoes-c00081/standard-mid-chelsea-snow-mte-shoe-pvn000cbh1of

Troll fail.

Excuse me? Do you mean the person claiming it’s literally impossible to change into shoes at their school is a troll?

“Garbage excuse for a school” because kids can’t change boots? Where do expect them to do it, in the crowded hallway or locker area while standing up? Go away crazy lady.
