CVS is texting you you forgot to pick up your Prozac |
But even with thighs and breasts ... if one were to boil them up, "salt it and put it in the fridge," and then a piece per day. And then drink the broth? Gag. The "chicken legs" part is the least of the problems here. |
You’re so low class how do you make it through life. Can I even function with so little protein in your body? ![]() |
Of course peanut butter is a terrible source of protein. It’s great if you want to gain weight though.
I’m willing to bet 50% or more of the 40% of Americans that are obese over-consume allegedly healthy food like peanut butter. Anybody in the category of “going to the gym now” as opposed to “I’m riding a bike for four hours and can’t keep weight on” or “I lift so heavy and train so hard I have to wake up to feed” shouldn’t be relying on peanut butter for a specific protein source. Beyond that, you don’t need specific protein sources if you are at the level of 95% of adults in the US. |
Nonfat Greek yogurt
Almond milk Mbira have a lot of protein per serving |
Both have ^^^ |
+1 one of my favorite quick snacks, and I'm quite thin. ![]() |
The OP wanted big protein meal ideas. Peanut butter is not high protein. It has protein but isn’t high protein. Why is this so hard to understand? No one is saying not to eat pb or that is bad. It just isn’t a very good protein source. |
Why are you so obsessed with Prozac? Maybe you need more protein to balance out your mental state. |
Deviled eggs
Full fat Greek yogurt with banana Turkey and cheese slices Nuts Left over chicken/beef from dinner Egg salad/chicken salad on crackers |
NP. Agree. I LOVE peanut butter and almond butter and have several spoonfuls daily. It is a protein source, yes, but I wouldn’t call a high protein source. Especially if you are trying to maximize protein while cut calories to lose weight-peanut butter should be a condiment with some bonus protein, but not your main protein source. Per 180 calories of peanut butter you get 8 grams of protein. 180 calories of eggs =15 grams protein, 180 calories low fat Greek yogurt =25 Grams protein, 180 calories black beans= 12 grams protein, 180 calories edamame = 15 grams protein. Just like hummus isn’t a good protein source, at all, but people seem obsessed with claiming it is a good “high protein” snack |
WTH? I'm on the same side as you, saying that judging one slice of toast with peanut butter as not having enough protein for a whole meal is absurd since it's not a whole meal. It's one part of a meal. You eat two slices. That's a lot closer. I suggested adding fruit, yogurt and vegetables, and pointed out that doing so also meets the goal the PP mentioned. Not being satisfied with a meal of one slice of bread and peanut butter doesn't mean I have an eating disorder. |
I was going to go in the opposite direction. Get small cuts to put into the slow cooker, add vegetables, and broth and turn it into a stew |
The reality is that people don’t look at labels. |
Thank you! I regularly buy rotisserie chicken but for some reason pulling it off and shredding wears me down! |
