So random- I am banned from ordering online from American Eagle?

We have lived in this house a long time.

I have given up. Sorry DD- no undies from Aerie!

This happened to me at Ulta. Bought something in store for the first time, cashier asked if I wanted to sign up for their rewards program (not a credit card, just points or whatever). Six months later I went to make a purchase online and it wouldn’t go through - got an email that I was restricted from buying anything due to “unusual account activity”. Tried different credit cards, tried not logging into my rewards account, tried using an alt email - all banned. So weird - saved some money, but I’ll never go back.

It’s because someone tried to spoof your account info previously to make purchases. You’re in cyber??

This is kinda BS post Covid! There is absolutely nothing in the stores, especially if you are looking for formal dresses in petite sizes. We have had dozens of weddings since Covid (many black tie ones) and I have a difficult time with gowns since I am very petite. I try to buy from places where I can return to an actual store (Bloomies, Saks, etc). Every time I had to return gowns, the sales person reiterates how often returns occur because of the VERY limited inventory in stores. It is virtually necessary to shop online if you want any options at all!!

We found some good bras at VS for my 13-yo. They have 32s and t-shirt bras. But we went and tried on, of course.

Apparently my husband is banned from a cosmetics company. Which is really weird because he used to order a lot from them, he ordered regularly and never returned anything.

This company tracks returns for multiple stores/companies:

Not sure if AE is one of them, but looks like you can request information from them to see why your transaction might have been denied.

I have a dream where the online stores will have mechanical expanding mannequins and you’ll be able to grow or shrink them to your measurements with the clothes on them and see video of how they fit.

ugh.
I worry about this with Anthropologie. I've had a bunch (6+?) dress occasions since June and have routinely ordered 4-5 dresses and kept one--often when paying $30 for overnight shipping. I'm 49 and my body is all weird (to me) with perimenopausal changes so it takes me a few tries to get a flattering dress. Gone are the days that I can put anything on and look good.

Added to this is a huge Urban Outfitters order we just placed for Homecoming dresses. Bought 6, keeping 1 (maybe). They're all pretty shoddy, sizing is all over the place, etc. It's almost impossible for even a teenager to pick the right dress virtually.

shipping and billing address are the same. it is SO weird but I guess it saves me $200

Did you use the same device? On the same network?

My friend got banned from Anthropologie after reporting a lost package. Item was marked delivered by the carrier, but she never received it (it either went to the wrong house or got stolen). They refunded her, but banned her from making any future online orders, though she can still shop in store.

Yeah, you are setting yourself up nicely for a ban...

Do a privacy search on yourself, your husband, your address, etc. DH's info was in a data breach and since then, everything online is ridiculous. Trying to repair it all is really tough.

this is OP again with another update.

So I sent a super snarky reply to the email I got yesterday and I got a response this morning. I need to wait 24 hours but then I should be able to order again. They have "cleared up the error" and gave me a 25% off coupon and free shipping. I might just send my DD to the store with the coupon.

I order a LOT from Anthropologie and return a decent amount of it - at least half or more. I've done this for years - I'm short and they don't carry the petite sizes in store so online is my only option. And since sizing is inconsistent among the brands they carry, a lot of what I try doesn't work. I wonder if I'll get banned but so far so good. Even with a lot of returns, I still spend a ton there.
