NP. How do you do a privacy search?

Not sure if AE is one of them, but looks like you can request information from them to see why your transaction might have been denied.

Too bad you don't live in California. CCPA requires companies to delete records of California residents at their request

Same (almost)! My return got lost (using the return label they provided) and they banned me.

Are you using a VPN? That could be what’s tripping up the security thing.

Sephora will do that to you too if you report a lost package. The first time. They don’t give any allowance for actual errors or thefts. You report a package missing; they refund you your money; and you can never order online from them again.

I worry about this with Anthropologie. I've had a bunch (6+?) dress occasions since June and have routinely ordered 4-5 dresses and kept one--often when paying $30 for overnight shipping. I'm 49 and my body is all weird (to me) with perimenopausal changes so it takes me a few tries to get a flattering dress. Gone are the days that I can put anything on and look good.

Added to this is a huge Urban Outfitters order we just placed for Homecoming dresses. Bought 6, keeping 1 (maybe). They're all pretty shoddy, sizing is all over the place, etc. It's almost impossible for even a teenager to pick the right dress virtually.

Yeah, you are setting yourself up nicely for a ban...

Meh... I'm an odd fit and order a lot online and have returned a significant portion. I've been waiting for a ban for a decade now.

Now my income has gone up substantially in that decade. I wonder if these retailers know that and are willing to take a chance.

So I tried again with a different card and got the same thing. So I called customer service who were really unhelpful but they tried to put it through and were also denied. They said they would escalate to order processing and someone would get back to me in 24 hours.

Today, I got an email from them saying- "Thank you for contacting American Eagle. Unfortunately, your order was unable to be processed and was cancelled by our verification system. Our verification systems are in place with the safety of our customers in mind and we are unable to provide specifics on these processes."

so their verification system must stink because I actually work in cyber and truly was just trying to purchase clothing for my teenager but they think I am some sort of crimlnal. Oh well American Eagle. So now where do I get bras for a teenager??

PU the friggin phone and ask them What is wrong with you?

This is one of many companies that blocks suspected fraudulent purchases:
https://www.riskified.com/customers/

Unfortunately, as OP has learned, the algorithms are far from perfect. And even when a CS representative claims that they fixed the problem (as they told OP), the representative often does not have any clue how to override the algorithm, and your purchases will continue to get blocked.

They’re big ol’ forced birthers, so that’s probably a net positive to be banned from supporting such hateful politics.

Sorry you’re blocked OP but I would guess something like someone else spoofed your VPN address or something similar so you have fraudulent activity associated with your address or card (that you didn’t do). Just go to the store.

There was some issue with me a couple of weeks trying to order online at Sephora. I emailed back after the second cancelation and I was like WTF, and they said there was some issue and to call them. I actually didn't call them but ordered another way and it went through. I have never done anything weird relating to Sephora - I think it was some kind of computer glitch / security thing.

Yeah I don’t do that. I ordered one and then I sent it back if it doesn’t work. And then I order another one. So if you do this regularly, maybe it makes them mad?

I agree what people are saying about availability in stores though. I tried to go shopping at the Bloomingdale’s in Friendship Heights and they had nothing above a ten. I’m a 14.

Create a new account, duh.

I don't have the time or patience to try on 7 pairs of jeans in the store plus I hate the lighting in the dressing rooms, so I buy 7 and return 5. Same with shoes. I will do this though only at Nordstrom or Bloomingdales where I know I won't have issues. So far it has not impacted me.

My petite friend was just raving about a new bra she bought at Uniqlo FYI.
