So random- I am banned from ordering online from American Eagle?

This is OP again, I tried to set up a new account and use my husband's card and now he is banned too.

shipping and billing address are the same. it is SO weird but I guess it saves me $200

I’ve heard of this happening.

Are you using a VPN?

They didn’t like that the billing address was different from the shipping address. So I cancelled the order and made two orders for two dresses each on a card with matched billing address.

Maybe I’ll be banned after I return 3 to 4 of them?

well, that's clear. Girls buying multiple slip dresses from Homecoming would send up a red flag!

Too many returns probably.

Years ago when I first signed up with Instagram I got banned almost immediately for violating community guidelines. I had posted one picture of my cat sitting in a window, and a picture of new porch furniture, and hadn't commented on anything yet.

So stores don't want to keep inventory in stock and push online ordering but they also don't want people to order multiple sizes and return.

How long have you lived at your home? Maybe there were excessive claims of shipments not received by previous owner or even in the general neighborhood.

Right? This is ridiculous. How are people suppose to try on clothes?

I can see why you'd feel insulted, OP!

Could it be related to prior excessive returns?

I wondered this too

I was also banned from Anthropologie/Urban/Free People about 8 years ago. I eventually figured out that it had to do with the fact that a credit card I had used was then cancelled due to a fraud charge somewhere during the order process, which was long because something was backordered and they didn't charge me for a while. Or at least it was something about an invalid card and that is the only possibility.

it is so frustrating, and obviously error prone as this thread makes clear. I think I also tried to use my husband's card and it was my address or something that was the issue.

You can always buy some on ebay or mercari, which is ironic because many of those things are actually stolen merchandise being fenced. So much for "security".

Try creating yet another new account. This time, use an entirely new device and new internet connection (for example, if you were using a laptop and home wifi, try using your iphone with cellular connection, i.e. wifi off).

I have made zero returns to American Eagle. I returned a pair of shoes to Nordstrom last week?
