Do you feel like you look different when you lose 5 lbs?

I don’t know what else I can do!

Sister, I am five feet and have been trying to go from 127 to 124 for a year now! I get back down, then it gets up again. I would give up altogether but I feel so much better at 124 - and even more at 122, which just seems impossible now!

I was 115 until I hit 40 - a happy 115, too, and had basically no trouble holding it. I prefer life now, but I preferred my weight then.

I'm 5'2" at 127 lbs with a muscular build. I definitely look better 5 lbs less. But it's also harder to lose that amount when you're close to being the right weight.

No way! I'd rather be able to lose 5lbs and SEE it. I feel like I'd have to lose 15lbs to see a difference. Maybe other people can see it better and I can't see it on myself though

3 pounds in 2 months is good! If you stick with it for another month you'll probably be there. Of course, whether or not that draconian diet is sustainable in the long-term is another matter.

Thanks! I needed that. I was actually quite addicted to desserts & bread so it’s been a lifelong goal to quit them. Can’t say it feels as amazing as I’d hoped though!

No, I don’t look different, but I’m also tall-ish (5’8). I can feel a slight difference in how my pants fit, but no one else would notice.

I’ll take the trade off of a five pound weight gain not being apparent, if it means no one similarly notices a five pound weight loss.

No. I'm only 5'2" but it took much more for me and others to notice.

Ack that sounds tough! I'm the poster you were responding to and it sucks that your journey has been so tough, but it's also comforting to have some company! Let me know if there are any other draconian measures I'm missing--- might as well try everything! Fall and Winter are tough for me because there aren't as many fruits around that can satisfy my sweet tooth and fill me up in a healthy way.

I just lost five pounds and I don't know if the person on the street can tell, but I can because it was all in my post-menopause potbelly. Now my jeans aren't squeezy and that makes me happy.

It is subtle, but yes. My bra cups and waist of my pants will be a little loose. Face a teensy less puffy.

Yes, I am short and it makes a big difference for me. I look back at pictures where I was heavier and I noticed my face is puffy, my stomach is bigger.

I have made an effort to cut down on portions and intermittent fast and my clothes fit much better.

Oh it's not tough in the scheme of things! It's a pretty minor complaint, all said. I'm 50 and I feel pretty good about myself, those five pounds and all - and I don't do draconian measures, because I know I'll be miserable and for me it's not sustainable. I'm looking for a good enough place that I can stay at without having to give up things that I really enjoy, basically. So, dessert infrequently, alcohol never (not for weight, but I get migraines), and I've been a vegetarian my whole life. But I eat bread, pasta, butter, all those things - I could probably easily take off 10 pounds if I stopped eating bread, but I think I like bread more than I want to be 10 pounds lighter!

I hope you can find the thing that works for you! Tall people really don't understand what it's like trying to take off any weight when you're a shortie.

I see and feel every 5 lbs.

People looking at me probably would not.

5'4", 130 pounds, small frame. 5 pounds is definitely noticeable on me. Even more so now that I'm in menopause and every excess ounce lands on my belly.

I don't think it's made a difference yet for me-I'm 12 lbs down (as of last week, I weigh on Saturdays) and I don't see it at all. Maybe a little in my thighs and upper arms. Not in my fluffy middle! Was 170 am now 158, so I do have a ways to go.
