Do you feel like you look different when you lose 5 lbs?

No, because I'm tall and have a big frame. I recently lost about 25 lbs (going from obese to overweight) and my clothes fit better but I'm not a whole size smaller.

I've lost weight before and know that as I get smaller, 5 lbs will make more of a difference. But, it will never be the big deal it is on a petite person.

This is the obvious answer. If you only need to lose 5 lbs it is noticeable If you are obese, it will not be noticeable

I lost 20 lbs last year No one noticed until I lost about 10 lbs I went from 160-140

OP here - I’m hoping to lose around 20 lbs total. I’m not super tall. I feel like I would notice if I gained 5 lbs so I guess I thought it would be more obvious. Doesn’t matter really because I’m obviously still trying to lose more it’s just interesting.

I'm short and it is definitely noticeable on me. I just lost 5 pounds (!!!!) and have already gotten a couple of unsolicited comments about whether i have lost weight. I think if you are really short, it makes a huge difference.

Yes it’s noticeable. For me I even can tell the difference between 112 and 116.

I don't feel that I look different, but I definitely feel different which then gives me a confidence boost where I walk taller, have better posture, and an overall better attitude.

2 factors, height and weight

I'm 5'2", and 5 pund loss would be noticeable

If obese, maybe not, of healthy weight, then yes, noticeable

I'm 5'5 and recently went from 175 to 165. I don't think it's noticeable in clothes, but my spouse and I both can tell when I'm undressed.

I do but that’s because I’m 5’1. My taller friends can literally gain or lose 15 before it’s noticeable.

Yes because I’m 5 feet tall. But it’s so hard for me to lose that much weight. I’ve been trying to go from 115 to 110. I’ve given up sugar / flour/ desserts/bread, and alcohol (don’t eat meat) — coupled with almost daily running/weights and I’ve lost 3 pounds in 2 months. It is so frustrating. I don’t know what else I can do!

3 pounds in 2 months is good! If you stick with it for another month you'll probably be there. Of course, whether or not that draconian diet is sustainable in the long-term is another matter.

No, not really. But I'm 5'9 with big hips. I feel like 5lbs spreads out pretty easily LOL.
