Reagan Airport - "Refuse to Move" Citation

Next thing you know someone is going to try to argue that Crystal City is really National Landing

This is what the comped time in the garage is for. Park, send child in to find grandma. When they call and say they’re at the curb, exit garage and proceed to where they’re waiting.

The only one who was rude here was you.

You were there for longer than 3 minutes and you know it. Sure the officer was likely on a power trip, but I am sure you are also pretty entitled too. just pay the fine and move on.

You are not supposed to wait at all- you are supposed to pull over when your pick-up person is there. Sending someone in to "look for" grandma undoubtedly took too much time. It's very frustrating not to be able to pick someone up when the area is full of cars just "waiting a few minutes".

It's National.

Those who say 'Reagan' are probably trying to make 'National Landing' happen. It's not happening, Gretchen.

I wish airports would enforce the no waiting / standing rule more. Whenever I pick someone up at IAD curbside, cars are triple parked.

Those who say "Reagan" are probably trying to make Trump happen. It's National and it always will be.

Let it go, grandma. Saying National makes you sound old.

Anonymous wrote:Had incredibly rude parking officer at Reagan Terminal 1 issue "refuse to move" citation - was standing in designated pick up area, elderly mother was walking out of building (accompanied by grandchild who went in to get her) but took few minutes walking around to get to car. Officer wrote ticket while elderly mother in sight because we weren't doing immediate pickup - we were there for less than 3 minutes total and there was literally no one else there. Total power move, called for her supervisor, she blatantly lied about how long we were there (she said 10-15 minutes) and supervisor sided with her.

My question is: do I have to pay this (live and registered in Virginia)? And has anyone else dealt with this?

OP, I'd follow the advice of several PPs and simply refuse to pay the fine, because Reagan Airport doesn't exist.

If things somehow escalate come back here and ask those PPs for more friendly advice πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I'll take sounding Old. Saying Reagan makes you should like you just moved here from Florida.

OP actually called the supervisor. Who was on a power trip? I bet your mom and daughter were embarrassed.

Ffs, libs, this is how you want to go out? Pretending a 25 year old name change, approved by President Bill Clinton, never happened?

Nothing is more Trumpy than (checks notes) refusing to admit the legitimate operation of government happened.

Get over yourselves.

If grandma went through the whole airport by herself, she could have walked out to the curb by herself too.

I vote that this was deserved. You have to do a loop until your person is waiting at the curb. And you don't ignore what a police officer says to you ever.

Recently (since Covid) I've noticed that there's an epidemic of people loitering in the fire lanes. I count 2-4 cars loitering per strip mall at the same time. It's dangerous for pedestrians because it obscures sight lines and of course, the fire department. Our fire department keeps sending out notices begging people to stop loitering. Not sure why the police don't get on that? Seems like easy pickings for tickets.
