Reagan Airport - "Refuse to Move" Citation

Anonymous
Given how this thread has shifted with the officer's supervisor posting, OP certainly owes them a big apology. But so do the other posters who jumped in to agree that "the officer was surely on a power trip". It really is disgusting how quick people are to attack those who work hard to keep order and keep us safe.

She was asked to pull up, which she refused to do. She was asked to loop around, (5 minutes or less), she was told the first hour of parking in the garage was free. At no time was any of our traffic officers or myself rude. Furthermore, an eyewitness corroborated the traffic officer's account of the incident. At that time, the complainant brought up a race issue. Most of our TCOs are African American and blamed the incident on race. The complainant also said that the witness and the traffic officer were friends. I can assure everyone, they absolutely do not know each other.

Traffic at DCA is close to a saturation point. We understand concept of picking up and dropping off passengers and the officers are allowed reasonable judgement to get that accomplished. It's a tough balancing act and I am always open to suggestions on improving the process. Thanks for the comments.

I think it's irrelevant whether OP was there for 3 minutes or longer. If a traffic officer tells you to move at an airport you move! This is her job! She's protecting your security and the security of the airport. Don't you get it OP?

This is one of the best things to ever happen on dcum.

You can always go to court and argue. Sometimes the officer does not show up and you automatically win, but you can’t just ignore it

Anonymous wrote:Feel for you OP. I just got my ticket from DCA. I stopped at terminal 1 and got a luggage cart ($6.00). Waited for my mom to get one of the wheel chair helpers for my grandmother. Four of us go inside. Wheel chair helper pushing grandmother and dragging one bag. My mom dragging another and me pushing the cart of bags. Say bye to my grandmother and walk back to my car to wait for my mother who is helping checking in my grandmother. I got back to my car and have a ticket. I am sure I was blocking for more than three minutes.

OMG. You absolutely deserve a ticket if you LEFT your car. In this scenario, you need to park in the garage and wheel the luggage and momma to the car. Or wheel mama and the luggage to the curb and go get the car. You dumb-dumb.
