She responded to emails - conversation over |
| I guess the original sender and the amount of emails you send plays a role in that. 🤔 |
I don't know a single person who would prefer the previous director over KC - but you go ahead and die on that hill |
| Who is SW? |
| I am a current stars parent and yes, I do agree that KC was a huge improvement over the last director, however, I also agree that there needs to be someone with a business acumen n charge that understand how to grow a business. Leave all the lax stuff to a star like KC but leave the business back office stuff to someone else |
I think you’ve overstated my position. I just think she’s not as bad as people say. She’s a great human being who wants to the girls to succeed. Sometimes her decisions don’t support that. |
SW was the former director who stayed on after being demoted. My limited experience with her was not positive. Prior poster is correct that she doesn't reply to emails or calls. Not a good coach either. They replaced her for a reason. KC seemed better but she had another full time job so was not around that much. |
+1 SW is a nice person but picks her favorites and is a horrible coach. She falls for the parents who kiss up to her and will favor their girls, regardless of their ability. Certainly many must have witnessed her jumping in to various years and contradicting the stars coaches when she didn't even know the rules for that specific age? She also replies to NO emails once you are signed up and paid. It's a different story when she's trying to sell you on her program, but once you're locked in, good luck. My dd is jumping to Pride. I think SW might be good if she could focus on either organization or coaching but doesn't seem to be able to do both. There are better people already at Stars so maybe they'll just promote one of them, even as interim? |
| If the other thread is to be believed, Pride will need new girls |
Sounds like lots of hopping around between teams this year. Apparently the grass is always greener... |

It is not all about Towson recruitment but the connection Carr has with all kinds of coaches that can be a great resource for any of her former players/families as they begin the recruiting journey. Carr has coached at Stanford, Hopkins, Ohio State, Delaware, UNC where she also played. Her connections run deep at several top schools/programs. The previous coach at Towson is now the head coach of UVA.
With Carr at the helm of the Towson lacrosse program I would bet the Towson #36 D1 NCAA Lax ranking which is higher than Duke, Georgetown, Virginia Tech, and Princeton goes even higher in 2024. Towson could very well become a D1 lacrosse top 5 program with Carr coaching. |

Towson may crack the Top 20, that's about it. Kids aren't dying to go to Towson even if KC is coaching. They'll get some of the second tier Maryland girls, the ones that don't get recruited by the top schools - Maryland, UNC, etc. This is likely more of a stepping stone to coach a top school further down the road. Kind of like the Towson coaches leaving for UVA. |
This is way too nice of a spin on SW. If the St James wants to continue to grow and capitalize on what KC did, they need to cut ties with SW. There's nothing good coming from going backwards |
If they really wanted to grow the should not have taken on the anchor that is MCE… |
