St James’ Carr named Towson Head Coach

Looks like St James is looking for a new director just as the new season starts.

Well, this is certainly interesting. She was the JHU assistant coach so it's not as though she can't hold two jobs at once.

Lot's of college lax coaches have 2nd and 3rd jobs, but it's not clear how this is going to play out.

Stay tuned, this could get interesting.

Looks like Stars needs a new director unless she plans to do most work from afar. Towson to STJ is not an easy commute.

This is very similar to the situation the Pride 2023 class experienced when Lindsay Teeters left the club right as that class was beginning its recruiting cycle to become American’s Head Coach. That class had a top 10 team the year Lindsay left. KM and BS were handed one of the most talented HS teams and did absolutely nothing with recruiting. Stars parents should learn from this experience and make sure the club has a plan in place to help the girls achieve their lacrosse goals. Lindsay cut ties with Pride completely following her departure, which was a huge loss to the Pride players. I’d be surprised if Carr can juggle both with TSJ and Towson. And I doubt Towson would allow this.

I am sure she will still be able to be involved, but the job of director will be too much along with head coaching a program.

The overwhelming odds is that she is done w her time at St James - as she absolutely should be. No need for that distraction. St James was fortunate to have her. Best of luck to her at Towson.

How would the contact rules work if she stays on with StJ?

This isn’t fantasy land. Carr is now the head coach of a D1 program. She will no longer be involved with the St James. Big blow to Stars and the St James.

What exactly did Carr do at the St. James?

So happy for Cookie! She will be close to her family and where she grew up! This could really open the door for many Stars players as Cookie fills her own roster.

Correct

I'm sure St. James creates an emeritus position for her and will allow her to use the St. James for prospect days. However, I doubt she has any day to day involvement in the program and 99% of girls will never see her.

She gone…

Cookie is really close with KJ so that connection will remain strong. It will also be great for recruiting/networking for all Stars players, SSSA and Capital players!

For all the kids that at SSSA that pay $50K a year for HS who want to go to US News’ #33 best North Eastern regional school? I guess it is one spot ahead of Moravian University!
