Sound of Freedom - What are they up to?

Nothing, and I mean nothing, about seeing this move is going to have any impact whatsoever on real child trafficking. So the real question is: instead of spending $15 on a ticket, and probably about $20 on snacks, why aren’t you making a donation to a legitimate organization that deals with survivors?

Because indulging in conspiracy theories scratches the itch much better.

Yes, conspiracy theories are very popular. So?

Actually, some of you on this thread obsessing about the producers of this movie seem like anxiety - driven, paranoid conspiracy theorists.

Because this is on the level of getting you all riled up about those children trapped in the basement of Comet Pizza, not to mention the literal fortune of money that has passed through this guy's hands without any accountability. You needed a movie to find out about what has been happening to children here and internationally, and you want to send more money through this guy's hands ... where it disappears? Grow up. Pay attention. This is not a new revelation.

Right. So let's take the spin about this RWNJ cosplay on helping children and use the momentum to talk about actual, transparent, goal-directed programs to help children.

THORN: https://www.thorn.org/about-our-fight-against-sexual-exploitation-of-children/
Thorn CEO Julie Cordua joined soon after to begin to dig further into the issue of child sex trafficking. ...
In 2014, after our team prototyped a product to aid in identifying child sex trafficking victims who were sold online, we made the decision to develop the product itself and provide it free to law enforcement. This approach broke open the new model for us — one that moved beyond innovation to include productization and rapid scale, bypassing existing bureaucratic structures that often hamper access, data sharing, and collaboration.

We now house the first engineering and data science team focused solely on developing new technologies to combat online child sexual abuse. We bring together a team with deep technical knowledge and subject matter expertise to innovate and deploy new technology solutions at a much faster rate. We are able to quickly assess whether new technologies can be repurposed to protect children from sexual exploitation through one of our three strategic pillars: 1) accelerating victim identification 2) equipping platforms, and 3) empowering the public.

Elisa Massimino and Ashton Kutcher have also testified in front of Congress to advocate for child victims.

RAINN: https://www.rainn.org/

RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Additionally, through federal and state governments:
- SNAP and WIC provide food to families in need. Please vote and speak out to support them.
- CHIP provides access to healthcare for children in need. Please vote and speak out to support it, as well as Medicaid expansion.

These are all well-established organizations that have apparently doing the work for a decade or more before you woke up, guys. Either figure out how to be effective in your outrage (instead of lining some wealthy person's pockets), or stop shilling for some RWNG project without accountability.

Part of the issue with Ballard’s group is that the case is turned over the local law enforcement once he “discovers” these children, and local LE is often apathetic or even complicit. The children aren’t given resources or support and sometimes end up back in sex work soon after their discovery.

Yeah, that’s gonna work. 🙄

Conspiracy pushers are scary. It is very reasonable to be deeply skeptical of any mass media they produce.

If nothing else, remember "Pizzagate" and the moron with a gun who felt called to shoot up our pizza parlor because someone convinced him it was child trafficking central.

Child sex trafficking is entertaining? Are you serious?

Why is this movie not being streamed? I read somewhere it was due to the Contant. Given the content that comes out on the streaming platforms, I can’t imagine that is the reason.

Must be because there is a conspiracy of the global elites to drain the adenofactotorum out of the tiny aliens who are pulling the chariot that will carry Jfk, Jr. out of the lizard people world so he can rise again. Hail Antz!! [secret hand sign flash]

🙄🙄🙄

As you seem to be new to planet Earth, I will share some important information with you: as it happens, humans watch movies about horrific subject matter for entertainment. They watch movies about cannibalistic serial killers, the Holocaust, child abuse, lynchings, trench warfare, mass murder, and a whole host of objectively awful topics for entertainment. You seem unaware of what a “movie” is, so I’d start by trying to understand that, and then you can tackle the harder question of “entertainment.”

Sorry that reality is so difficult for you.

Read the post you were responding to again, slower this time, as many times as necessary before you understand it.

Sorry that reading comprehension is so difficult for you,

You seem to be unaware that there is more than one option for entertainment out there. I'll go ahead and spend my money on something that's a lot more fun than watching children be sex trafficked, thanks.

Right. This was a release of prepaid/"pay it forward" ticket data all on one specific date, just so they can try to make this claim. It's a manipulation of data and did not represent more butts in movie theater seats on that weekend.

Let's see what happens to the numbers moving forward for this wingnut exercise.

I guess we're going to keep deleting my posts but the Hispanic people I work with who are here without documentation have all had a friend or family member with this experience. They all know a child who has been taken, usually not by a "talent search" but by someone who is offering to bring them here to the US for a few thousand dollars. They are out their life savings and they have lost a child. They just can't tell anyone about it because they are fearful about their stay in the US and are afraid of the cartels. I am surprised people on this site are not more familiar with this problem, knowing how worldly you are and how much you care for others.
