Sound of Freedom - What are they up to?

They did an excellent job of presenting the harrowing material in realistic ways.

I am not really understanding why this movie is so controversial since it addresses a huge and growing problem of child sex trafficking from poor countries to both the developing world and first world settings.

The lead character was very religious but in an authentic not overbearing way. My teen and I said there is no way we would have been brave enough to carry out his rescues. If his faith motivated him to help so many children then bravo

M16 sorry - I meant for more mature audience than 13.

By realistic I meant the living conditions of the victims and vulnerabilities that led to being lured into such horrific situations.

However I read that Sound of Freedom has been criticized by anti-trafficking experts for providing a "false perception" of child trafficking and promoting "rescue" tactics that may actually put real victims in danger.

Then I read about the allegations against the producer for fondling underage victims’ breasts during the filing and against Tim Ballard himself (but by adult women). Just awful.

The movie is on Amazon Prime.

I watched it for the first time last night.

I thought the movie plot was suspenseful.

Based on a true story, it was horrifying and sad.

The real life footage at the end of the raid, no graphics of the trafficked children, made it more believable.

It's not difficult to believe that this is true. I don't think it's a conspiracy.

You think it is a complete fabrication that there is human trafficking?

The fabrication is that this particular pervert who made the movie is helping. Maybe read the thread and the links in it?

To people who actually fight trafficking say it, there’s nothing “realistic” about this movie at all.
