Is BASIS McLean as good or better than the Big 3?

Nope. Disagreeing with someone does not make that person a troll.

OP is asking a question and trying to answer it on his/her own by comparing test scores and college metrics. Just stop it is desperate and sad.

BIM did set a world record by having the same HOS for two years in a row for the first time in the school's existence. At the same time, the faculty pages show nearly half the staff has turned over since 2020, and we don't know how many more will be gone once the August roster goes up.

It's a volatile place with a one-dimensional "educational philosophy" tied to testing and more testing.

Unstable meat grinder.

They advertise on the radio and reek of desperation. They are nowhere near a big 3 or any other school.

Their results are impressive no matter how you slice it.

Give it a rest.

But they are.

We don’t know their actual results other than they have lots of marketing. College admits list could mean anything. I went to a tiny not great high school and one year our valedictorian got into 6 Ivys, for the next several years they proudly listed those schools on their admits list as if most of the class wasn’t struggling to get into our state flagship.

Sigh. Again, they say on their website that 50% of the last graduating class went to a top 25 school and that 89% of the class went to a top 50 school. Unless they are lying about that, it’s impressive.

If they do not provide the data, yes of course they are lying.

They are so desperate for enrollment they would make up any statistic needed to secure tuition money.

However, they will not back it up with an actual list of college matriculations.

They’re not the only ones.

“Sigh.”
Is this you, OP? Not letting it go, are you? Oh wait- it’s for the grandkids, right?

They’re awfully specific about outcomes - and average test scores and college acceptances are off the charts. I can’t imagine that the Big 3 (which of course aren’t nearly as transparent) have better numbers. I know TJ’s average test scores are higher, but that’s about it. And BASIS is cheaper than the so-called “top” privates.

Not trolling. Zero connection to the school. Just genuinely curious.

Yes basis is the best. 100 percent of class of 2023 got into Harvard. Their endowment is $2 billion. They are expanding to make a BASIS Bethesda. Call now to get in - 1800-BASISROX.

Not even remotely clever.
