Has anyone gotten naturally pregnant at 46?

If my family was like the one where grandmothers did, I’d stay on BC.

This. It's genetic.

I'm still a fertile myrtle at 45. Periods normal so, yeah, there's no reason to doubt conception.

Just today a friend was sharing a story about a woman who conceived and had her first child at age 46. So, yes!

More like 20% chance. 46 is too old for a newborn, be more responsible, OP.

If you wind up pregnant and want to terminate for medical reasons, you may be forced to carry to term. Or you may have a miscarriage and be unable to seek medical care for yourself until you are "sick enough."

+1 The majority of abortion patients are not teenagers. They are married/partnered women who already have 2+ children.

Where is the info to back this up? I've always suspected this, but don't know for sure.

My sister did and by the time she gave birth she was 47. It was her fourth child. Her daughter is normal, now 29 and just got married. I do think that my sister did not have as good a relationship with her as she did with her older kids.

Sorry, I don’t really understand this logic. Not having kids at 45+ doesn’t mean these women weren’t fertile, they could’ve just had effective BC.

Before it was legal? My grandmother was 45 in 1972. You either have older moms in your family or you don’t. I don’t.

Normal periods don’t guarantee fertility, but you are smart to assume you could still get pregnant.

Pills aren't the only form of birth control. My grandmother and her generation knew lots of natural ways to control birth and also induce abortion.

+1. My grandmother actually taught me both of these things. She told me that this was "secret knowledge" not to be told to men!

A good friend of mine had 4 naturally conceived pregnancies (and healthy babies) at age 38, 40, 42, and 45.

Yup, my mom. Gave birth to my youngest brother at age 47.

My mom had an unnexpected pregnancy at 43. I’m pretty sure she did not have sex again until she was past menopause. The doctors scared the crap out of her saying she and the baby would both likely die.

I have a friend like this too. 40, 42, 44, 46, naturally pregnant first try or within maybe 2 months always with perfect, healthy births and kids. At 47 thought she should be done with birth control because she was way too old and had too many kids to get pregnant which I though was hilarious. Perfect candidate for a 50 year pregnancy! Don't sleep on the BC people, the body will do incredible things in some cases.
