My cardiologist’s nurse administers a pregnancy test to every female patient under 60 who is about to undergo a surgical procedure. She once had a 51 year old patient who was pregnant and didn’t know it because it was early in the pregnancy. |
+1 The majority of abortion patients are not teenagers. They are married/partnered women who already have 2+ children. |
Same. She had a baby when her oldest was 22. No thanks! |
Considering the high risk of complications, miscarriages, and genetic defects, why in the world would you risk getting pregnant in your mid 40s if you don’t very much want another child? Be smarter |
Why would you not read the post before responding? ![]() |
Not to mention the fact that if you don't carry the risk of your child have a disability is much higher and the risk of you experiencing life threatening complications is much higher. |
*miscarry not carry |

My grandmother. |
Sorry, I don’t really understand this logic. Not having kids at 45+ doesn’t mean these women weren’t fertile, they could’ve just had effective BC. |
I got pregnant naturally at 47 - wasn't trying, and in fact thought it would no longer be a concern at my age. I didn't want more kids so have terminated. Be at peace with this decision if you really don't want any more, or step up your BC. |
My grandmother got pregnant with her youngest child at 47, almost 17 years after her previous baby. Healthy pregnancy and healthy baby. My uncle is younger than 3 of his nieces and nephews. |
A friend got pregnant last year at 46. It was unexpected. As the pregnancy developed, they found out the baby had a rare genetic defect that was incompatible with life. The baby died in utero at 36 weeks. Don’t risk a pregnancy at this stage of life. It’s too risky! |
my grandmother also become pregnant and gave birth at age 47 except it was 18 years after her previous baby. OP if you don't want to get pregnant - use birth control! |
My grandmother: Had her kids at 44 and 47 in the 50s. |
