What is a word that you dislike and/or associate with negative things, when most people would not say the same?

| Promulgate - I have an MA/BA in Classics (Latin) so I have a robust understanding of the etymology of the word. It basically means 'cause to come out in the way milk does from a cow'. Since I grew up on a farm with dairy cattle, it's an image I can't get out of my head when it's used. |

why must sunscreen ALWAYS be "slathered" on? why do we "slather" on moisturizer? or lip balm? or a hair mask? Idea! Let's start "applying" sunscreen instead! Let's stop "slathering" avocado spread onto the toast -- and for gd's sake, do NOT say "yummy" when you do -- and let's all begin "spreading" the mashed avocado onto the toast. Thank you |
