Do you live under a rock?

Corporate law, consulting, sales, any number of professions offer that earning potential at a relatively young age.

But all if thosecrequire an extra degree, no?
Hence, more tuition (and miscellaneous) college costs.

So who is paying for that?

Mom & Dad

It’s ironic that OP writes “no debt” as if that’s an accomplishment on her DD’s part

"No debt" is great, but may be due to family finances that paid for her education and suggests that she is not a homeowner so there is a lot of income thrown away for rent--unless, of course, she still lives at home.

Would you say that if it was a son????????????

I think not.

Barren????????????

OMG please stop.

Women are not baby-making machines, and that one aspect of their biology should not dictate how they live their lives.

IF she wants children, she has time and options. And if she does not, it sounds like she will be "doomed" (haha) to a life of discovery, freedom and endless options. Not too worried!

??? Question was about loneliness, not marriage. The surgeon general is currently raising the alarm on a loneliness epidemic among young people. When talking about how someone in their late 20s is doing, it's a reasonable enough question to ask.

Check out the relationship page. No one sounds more miserable than the DMV's married women!

It must be a relief to know your kid can make her way in the world independently.

Some people never achieve this.

Job well done OP!

+1 no debt is awesome.

Happy for her, OP, and you. As a parent, you don't want your kid to be struggling. Ignore the haters.

What do you mean this "wasn't a thing" when you were younger? Having a job? Not getting married? I don't get it.

I think having children is important. Otherwise all that life becomes a dead end branch on the family tree. FWIW I am one of 3 kids, only one with chikdren myself. My siblings wont have any descendants to sing their praises or marvel at their exploits, like I do with my grandparents, etc. food for thought

Not to be negative. But if she works in something like big law or finance I would be careful to not assume that it is only up from here. A lot of people semi-burn out and take a big QOL pay cut. Encourage her to save for retirement and not overspend on RE etc.

I live a similar life to your daughter, but with kids. I'm 32yo, married, 2 kids, own a business making mid 6 figures. DH and I both work remotely so we travel and explore a ton as a family while the kids are little. I'm really hoping to set a good work/life balance for my kids and I cannot wait to see what they do when they grow up!

That’s… not really similar at all.

It's a "one-up"...

You mean “one down”…

Good point. How can you be happy if no one’s there to tell you how great you are?
