Or “Whitefolks Bay” as it’s called by those in the know.

Nice! Sounds like a great place

What are the most diverse and least diverse parts of Wisconsin?

NP. I am from Milwaukee and will defend my hometown until the day I die - I love it there, it is so underrated. But Milwaukee really does have extreme issues with segregation and institutional racism. It is always ranked one of, if not the, worst cities for Black people. We can acknowledge that it is a great city but still has its issues.

Madison would be the exception to that tendency, due to the university.

How do you feel about endless grey skies, even in summer?

You don't know much about Wisconsin!

They are about 30 years out of date with this. I am GenX and many of my peers were like this, but the younger generations here (except maybe in small towns) are not getting married any earlier than anyone else.

Really? I used to hang with a very artistic working class crowd and was shocked-just like totally shocked—at how many of those tattooed 20 somethings with crazy colored hair had kids and wedding rings and were freaking homeowners! coming from DC it was just a surprise that these people could afford to buy on a creative working class salary.

https://www.prb.org/usdata/indicator/marriage-age-women/chart/

Average age of marriage in WI is 27.8 which is almost dead center of US states (26/50). Being the largest city in the state, I would say that Milwaukee's average age is probably higher than that 27.8 number.

It is an affordable, fun city with lots of culture and sports and things to do and there are down to earth, friendly people, a lot of beautiful parks and lakes. People do tend to get married younger there than in DC but there are still plenty of 30s single people as well if you’re looking to date. If you don’t mind the winter, it’s a good place to live. One thing I didn’t like about living there as a 30-something is that a lot of people leave the city practically every weekend to go to their cabin “up north” or to a lake house or something. I love nature but we didn’t own a cabin and had no desire to have that cabin lifestyle every weekend.

You must have known some either very well off or very outdoorsy people. Most people do not do this, especially every weekend. Many people do go “Up North” in the summer, though.

The "cabin lifestyle" really is a thing, and it's not just for "very well off"...or even well off people. Remember "Making a Murderer"? Those folks were the epitome of working class and even they had a property and cabin "up north."

How is it for white people?

White people are not a monolith, especially in the Milwaukee area. What specifically would you like to know?

Well neither are black people, so.... I guess just the same question but for white people's interests...

Where would you move to? Milwaukee is great. Madison is too, although it might not be my top choice as a single 30-something. There are many very beautiful other parts of the state- Door County, driftless area, the Northwoods, the area up by Lake Superior...places like Appleton, Eau Claire, LaCrosse, De Pere can all be quite lovely...but outside of Milwaukee and Madison I'm not sure of any places I would move to as a single 30-something with no connections.

Well what are black people's interests? If you can speak for black people like they're a monolith, why not keep the same energy?

Huh? It's not "me" that's saying this. And it has nothing to do with "interests."

I went to a high-pressure East Coast college, and some of my favorite classmates were from Wisconsin. Down to earth, less intense, kind. I'd say go for it. You can always move back!

I prefer Michigan, but Wisconsin is certainly a beautiful state. I think that's where Little House in the Big Woods was set. Very annoying of Pa to move the family from the cool and verdant Wisconsin woods to the flat Kansas prairie, with no shelter from the sun.
