I wonder what percentage of the population can do this. I can't. I've tried. Many times. I'm impressed. |
National Merit Scholar
Impressive college Former journalist with multiple cover stories Now I am just a middle aged mom with a very unimpressive life |
I am in awe of you. |
I'm a nuclear engineer. |
I'm the acting director of a hospital on night shift. Basically from 7p-7a 3 days a week I deal with what the managers and directors do during the day (staffing issues, patient issues, record issues, calling in on-call teams, responding to emergencies, etc). The job description and how people see it is a lot more impressive than what it actually is. |
Perfect score on SAT. Peaked early. |
A phD from an absolutely top program at a top research university. I pursued it out of interest, it was a great time, but it sent me down a path with lots of opportunity costs and an okay but not optimal career (I'm in a great position but relative to what I could have done otherwise it's a stunted career existence). |
+1. I'm a NMSSF and have degrees from very top universities, but I can't fold a fitted sheet. |

+1 My husband can but my hands just don’t work that way, I swear. |
I can speak three languages fluently.
I don’t think it’s impressive because a) I just have a natural talent for languages; it’s not that hard for me and b) I know a ton off people who speak more languages than I do, and they have better skill in each their languages. |

Have you been arrested too? |
I can ski like really really well. Grew up in NH, raced GS and slalom on my high school team. Now live in the DMV and rarely ski. |
#1 and first in the U.S. creative writing MFA program. This is very impressive. You can't say it sounds impressive. It doesn't to the average person. Most people think Iowa's Writers' Workshop is just a 3-day workshop where you learn how to brainstorm, Venn Diagram, and cognitive mapping. This is an example of something that doesn't sound impressive, but is actually very impressive. Great accomplishment in life. I sincerely mean that. |
