In our case, it’s because we’re swingers.

Ha!! I love DCUM. Walkability is huge for me, a mom of young kids who wants to be able to take them around the block, to the library, and to the swimming pool etc without using a car. We do that and love it!

Is it difficult to be an alcoholic swinger as the mom of young kids?

You don’t even want to know what “two car garage” is a code word for.

Is it because they are alcoholics or drinks who can’t get in a car after going to a bar?

Are they swingers who want to bring other couples back from nearby bars and restaurants close by?

Oh my god, what?

This is sort of like that post by the person who doesn't know anyone you takes amtrak!

We are a family of four in a very walkable area (Shaw.) biggest perks: my kids walking to school -- we chat, we see friends along the way, se sometimes stop at the cafe on the way there. walking them home, maybe we stop at the store and pick up a few things, maybe we stop at a park or playground on the way home. the journey (the WALK) is so so so pleasant. we observe our surroundings, we interact with our surroundings very easily, since we are on foot and can just stop and interact. it's not Point A to Point B the way that a car ride is.

100%.

OP, have you ever taken the train?
