| If you get into a habit of doing errands on foot and can do it, then you automatically get exercise without having to dedicate time to it. Also, if your area is walkable to nothing, but trails or houses, you can still walk for exercise purpose, but it gets boring. Doing things on foot because you want to go buy something or eat out is just more fun and walking with purpose than dragging yourself out for a recreational walk. If you buy little bit, you have to go again, and you won't be buying a lot because you don't want to carry, so the cycle of having to walk to get stuff continues and you are getting in better shape without gym or dedicate exercise/recreation time. |
| I have PTSD, too much tragedy in the family due to driving/cars, and I myself was injured and almost died. I do not drive anymore.. I feel incredibly trapped if I cannot do everything I want on foot or PT. We don't need multiple cars either, which is a bonus. We chose the area where I could do most necessary things on foot, but it unfortunately doesn't have a Metro stop or proximity to hiking/biking. I think it is why I don't fully enjoy living there, and my world had become so small.. I have to ask spouse to drive me and feel like a dependent child. Therapy is expensive and I don't want drugs. I just want to walk/bike places and take Uber if needed sometimes. It sucks that in the USA driving is an essential skills and hard to find a place where it isn't. |
You don't drink at all when you go out? Well, good for you, But what a stupid take. Also, don't swingers need more impressive living quarters with much privacy to keep inviting revolving door of "friends"? Swinging is more likely to happen in very affluent and car dependent parts with large homes and private yards. |
Their kids will have less competition when applying to college. Can’t take all the kids from the science magnets, have to spread around admissions |
Do republicans swing? |
Caboose! |
My wish list in the past was strolling proximity to a coffee shop but they are too overrun with laptops and interviews. It's like a business center when I want chilling out not seeing someone break a sweat typing. |
"You can do anything." |
kindly, therapy is expensive but it can be life changing for PTSD, and you will then end up saving money because your lifestyle won't be as restrictive. It's worth the investement, and psychologists have a lot of techniques for trauma and PTSD. speaking from experience. |
HAng in there! I see you! I am also an injuried person that wishes I could walk more than I do. I do live in a walkable area and I'm surrounded by people that value walking over car use and it's tough to decline invites to hang out with them because I can't walk fast enough to keep up. It's entirely possible I would be happier living in a less walkable place, but . . . my husband and kids enjoy it. ANd mayb eif I work hard and get lucky with PT . . . |
