I've been taking Wegovy since mid-January. I have never felt nauseous or had constipation or had any side effects. The weight is just coming off. I don't eat as much, because I'm not hungry. In the past, I have not felt full, now I do. Maybe this is what people refer to as the food noise in their head, but that has never run true for me, I was just always hungry and never satisfied.
I started at 165 (am 5'2", so that's a lot for someone my height). I'm down to 150, so losing about a pound a week. Obviously still a ways to go, but I'm feeling good about my progression |
I am taking Ozempic and losing weight, but I still have “food noise.” I feel full quickly for sure, and I can’t eat like I used to, but MAN I still crave just like I always have. I wonder why? I’m at the 1mg dose. I wonder if that means my cravings are psychological or something. |
I don't know why, but that's how it was for me as well. I was on it 4 months, finally got to max dosage, but still craved food/sweets. The difference is I wasn't losing weight. |
Oh wow this is interesting. I’m currently on Naltrexone and it also silences food noise but expressly because it is psychological. I wonder if that means I wouldn’t get the same effect from Ozempic. |
I've lost 50lbs on a semiglutide, lowest dose. I could probably stand to go up a dose but it's hard to get. I have been working hard to get a healthier food regime in place so that I can sustain the loss in the long term. Also trying to increase weight training etc. I have halved my blood pressure medication, I can move my body so much easily and it's great not thinking about food, which is how I think a lot of people think all the time. |
Good luck with the full body makeover. Will be touch, but I bet you will look and feel incredible after you are healed. What did you think of Rybelsus? I’m currently in ozempic, but the doctor mentioned switching me to rybelsus due to cost. I currently don’t have any stomach upset in ozempic, so I’m Leary of rybelsus. |
FWIW I was on Mounjaro from July to November and lost 35 pounds. Never had to go above 5mg dose, very mild side effects. Stopped taking it in mid November and so far have have gained none of the weight back. Crossing fingers it will stay this way. I am not on any special diet or exercise program but have always been a fairly healthy eater (no cravings, no binges, no diets). I just gained weight during covid — I think combination of reduced activity, boredom and depression. So maybe I would have gradually lost the weight regardless without the med, but could not be more thrilled to have jump started it. Also went from borderline high AIC to normal and from high cholesterol and high blood pressure to normal. |
Ozempic worked for a month, during which time I lost 10 lbs. Then it stopped working. Still have 35-40 to lose :-/ |
There are many. |
That’s what it’s supposed to do. Once it stops working you up the dose. One month is nothing. |
I know I drink too much and am always going out for happy hour and drinks. Will it help me stop with this? |
No that’s a whole other problem. You probably want to work in some sort of 12 step program for that. A weight loss drug won’t help what’s going on there. |
Might make you feel sick. So….maybe. |
I think Wellbutrin might |
I have lost almost all interest in alcohol. I can tolerate 1, maybe 2 glasses of wine and that’s it. I feel like garbage the next day. It is not the same for everyone. |
