So i too the highest dose of Wegovy, which was studied and released for weight loss. Not Ozempic. I have posted alot about how it worked for me. "To me" I actually do consider it a appetite suppressant, you still want, you just physically can't. Or at least that's where I am 5 years later. I have lost over 150lbs. I am back in a clinical trial for maintenance dosing.

The nausea is not what causes you to lose weight, it's the feeling of being full. But your brain can and will override that sometimes. I also take Topirinate 50mg to help with that. Some people take wellburtrin.

Super interesting! Have you been ina. Maintenance dose all this time?

I was off for a while when the initial study ended. Definitely gained some weight back, but that's because I really didn't understand the process and they just cut you off. But then I got on Rybelsus (incorrect spelling). Then on Wegovy when it was released for weight loss. Then off again for a while. Now back on it (I think-clinical trial I could be getting the medication or placebo, but I am certain I'm getting the medication) and I'm maintaining. Actually I've lost more weight than I want too. I have a lot of extra skin. After this trial is complete, I will be getting a full body make over. The extra skin is....just terrible.

Good luck with the full body makeover. Will be touch, but I bet you will look and feel incredible after you are healed.

What did you think of Rybelsus? I’m currently in ozempic, but the doctor mentioned switching me to rybelsus due to cost. I currently don’t have any stomach upset in ozempic, so I’m Leary of rybelsus.

NP. I've been on Rybelsus 3 mg for a month and lost 10 lb. I haven't had any stomach issues at all.

I have lost almost all interest in alcohol. I can tolerate 1, maybe 2 glasses of wine and that’s it. I feel like garbage the next day. It is not the same for everyone.

Ever since I’ve been in it, I drink maybe one glass a week. I was never a big drinker and would only have maybe 5glasses a week, but now I have no interest and it totally fills me up.

I’m not sure an alcoholic would have the same reaction though.

No that’s a whole other problem. You probably want to work in some sort of 12 step program for that. A weight loss drug won’t help what’s going on there.

Not necessarily

Yet another reason to make ozempic more accessible.

While I have not lost my interest in alcohol, it absolutely ruins my next day unless I can sleep in and nap twice and do nothing all day. I still do on occasion but having three beers and being hungover makes it rare.

As an alcoholic (I don't drink too much, but I WANT to drink), I'd love to try it and see. I'd love something that makes cravings less.

I've heard that people don't crave alcohol on it and many drink less

I too have also lost most of my desire for alcohol while on it. I read that scientists are looking into these drugs as a cure for alcoholism though I would think you would need to stay on them very long term.

There are other drugs to reduce cravings or make you feel really terrible if you do drink.

I don't crave it, but do have it on occasion. I can only drink red wine or sweet cocktails though. White and rose taste really bitter to me. I don't have any foods that taste bad, just alcohol.

I wonder what Ozempic does to people with UC, Pancreatitis and severe food allergies? I am losing weight slowly with my diet and exercise but I want a push. But, I am terrified as I have been out of the hospitals for 18 mos. I HATE my constant bloat of my destroyed intestines. I cannot fast as I vomit. The bile is overproduced in me due to pancreas issues and everything results in nausea and vomiting. Sigh. I will try my Pancreas and UC group to see if any of them have taken this drug.

I take metformin. Less dramatic effects, but still lost 10-12 lbs and I do feel less hungry though I love food. I wasn’t very overweight at all (5’4, 147 lbs) but was solidly prediabetic with a genetic predisposition (Indian parents both had it). Now I need to actually integrate regular exercise into my life, but I’ll likely stay on it. I’m currently 135 lbs. I love what it’s done for me and I hope these drugs continue to work for whoever needs them.

To those who've had success, when did you start to see it? I'm on the 2nd step right now and I'm maybe down 2 lbs total in 6 weeks. I definitely feel full sooner, definitely eat less and have no cravings for snacks. The scale is depressing.

I'm not overweight but I constantly struggle with my food and alcohol cravings. Every night I think about having some wine and/or I want to binge late-night and I have to convince myself not to.

I would love to get on this drug and just not want to do that anymore.
