Pour one out for the rich kids |
How do you know? Are you a college counselor at a Big 3? |
Very odd behavior for you to care so much or do you really think the DC “Big 3” are more special than top private schools in any other major city? Your arrogance and entitlement is stunning. I’m very thankful the parents at our private school are not like this. |
Christopher Newport! |
NP. I know you are accustomed to being able to buy your way into private clubs, but this is not the "I'm upset my Big 3 child isn't going to an Ivy" private group. Not only can anyone post here, PP's comments were very relevant. |
Also a Big 3 parent of senior who has been seeing this play out - times are changing. To OP - please help your DC learn to love the schools that chose them. They have had a great foundation and are set up for success. How you frame this can help them mentally. That said - I am not diminishing the unpleasant journey of this year in college admissions - on that point, I can commiserate. |

Lol. This isn’t even in the Private School forum, it’s in Colleges & Universities. On the internet. You all realize you’re not having private conversations here, right? |
This is NOT true this year. |
I'm not PP but I think you interpreted this incorrectly. I think they are saying ED2 was deny at Chicago - that ED1 was needed for success. I can attest that many schools where ED and EA would have been a solid accept in the past resulted in defer or denial this year. |
+1. Poor babies! Mommy and Daddy paid a fortune over the last 12 years and they still are having yhe same college admittance issues as the regular folk. |
At least strangers can spot their pedigree in a coffee shop. |
