Seriously how would we know.

The big southern publics will be options, as will most SUNY schools.

Apart from Quinnipiac (because of the election polls it publishes) I’d never heard of these schools.

All in New England, options for kids with OP’s stats.

Lots of good options.

JMU average GPA is 3.9

Many kids get in JMU with a 3.3. Definitely apply.

DP. The 25th percentile at JMU is a 3.62. Very, very few kids will get in with a 3.3.

I posted this in another thread a few days ago. I looked at my kids' FCPS high school. The "cut line" for acceptances for JMU seemed to be about 3.3 weighted. At that line, it was a mix of accepted and rejected (50/50). Above that line were almost all acceptances, and below that line were almost all rejections. (of course, there are always a few random acceptances and rejections on either side of the line).

So, who knows if those at the 3.3 "accepted" mark had a higher GPA in fall of senior year. But, at 3.3 Weighted, at least from a pretty decent FCPS HS, you have at least a 50-50 shot at getting into JMU. Absolutely would be in at GMU and VCU and UMW, barring some aberration.

The problem with Naviance is that for some bizarre reason, they use GPA from the end of senior year - instead of end of junior year, which is what students apply to colleges with. So it's never actually accurate information.

Here's SCHEV comparing all of these schools - GMU is another one that is with a 3.3.

*meant to say, GMU is doubtful with a 3.3

3.3 weighted for JMU — that does not sound right — I think that is an acceptable unweighted GPA for JMU? We are OOS and while my DD was accepted (3.7 w), several of her classmates were not.

In the nearby area, GMU, VCU, UMW, UMBC, WVU, U Del, and possibly JMU are all options. But if you are looking for a different type of school, you should refine your question.

3.3 would be a reach for GMU and JMU.

no it happening with that GPA. Possibly VCU and maybe CNU though.

Well it has happened so not sure why you are saying it’s not happening. Many students do get accepted to JMU with a 3.3.

3.3 would not be a reach for GMU. JMU is harder to get in but chances are not bad.

Do you people look at Naviance or just make stuff up?
