JMU, Coastal Carolina, Penn State Commonwealth Campuses; UMBC; High Point; College of Charleston. Lots of good options.
JMU average GPA is 3.9
Many kids get in JMU with a 3.3. Definitely apply.
DP. The 25th percentile at JMU is a 3.62. Very, very few kids will get in with a 3.3. https://research.schev.edu/iprofile.asp?UID=232423
I posted this in another thread a few days ago. I looked at my kids' FCPS high school. The "cut line" for acceptances for JMU seemed to be about 3.3 weighted. At that line, it was a mix of accepted and rejected (50/50). Above that line were almost all acceptances, and below that line were almost all rejections. (of course, there are always a few random acceptances and rejections on either side of the line). So, who knows if those at the 3.3 "accepted" mark had a higher GPA in fall of senior year. But, at 3.3 Weighted, at least from a pretty decent FCPS HS, you have at least a 50-50 shot at getting into JMU. Absolutely would be in at GMU and VCU and UMW, barring some aberration.
