There were several years where they got 0 or 1% increases. This is just allowing feds to barely catch up.

Thanks Obama!

Yes, because during a recession he was supposed to “make it rain” on federal employees.
Great optics!

I know right. GS 13 here. If this increase goes through next year my salary will be 154K. Even if it gets knocked down to 4%, salary will be 152. Let’s go!!!

You sound so douchey.

And here's the inflation rate for those years:

I think Obama was an excellent president overall, but he screwed over fed employees. Glad to see Biden attempt to correct for this.

I think there is a huge difference between “making it rain” and a 1% raise.

When are we going to stop throwing money at glorified secretaries (government employees). Anybody can enter a few lines into a spreadsheet, write a memo, and send an e-mail. Feds have no special skills and should not be compensated as if they do

I do not think you have any idea what kinds of things federal employees do! It is a shame as we do some impressive things.

Some govt employees work very hard and do impressive things.
Many are lazy and don’t do much work.

This is true of all people.

It’ll end up closer to 2%, maybe 2.2% tops.

December

You don’t need to wait—I’m telling you now that it will end up, due to the GOP, at 1.5%. Budget accordingly.

Hi, government scientist here. We have global publication metrics that can compare (although imperfectly) the productivity and impact of our work. I do better than the average of my peers at universities, some of whom have literally twice my salary. Same with plenty of my fed colleagues. You appear to be unaware of the range of federal government work or the qualities of its employees.

Can someone remind me how this would or wouldn’t impact capped employees.

Also to the people who constantly say gov employees don’t work- explain to me why I had to hire childcare so I could work today?
