Stop complaining and make it better or leave.
Not hard. MOCO is a fantastic place we are very lucky to live here and not VA. Our voters were not fooled by COX that fool and other Republicans. Virginians well they were stupid to vote in Youngkin. Either way OP you don't like it here stop complaining and move. We don't want people like you here anyway. Go MOCO |
You don’t need to negotiate handouts to every individual business when you have a business environment that supports job growth. That’s a losers game. |
It’s okay. We don’t need jobs when we’ve got “urbanism” and “15 minute living”. |
Love it or leave it? Seems familiar….lol. A real Team America. Listen, this all reminds me of a certain subset of of Hillary Clinton supporters (and I was one) way back in 2016. Anyone that questioned how her campaign was run or the messaging being put out was basically told, we don’t care what you think, we don’t need your votes. GTFO. Reminder - she needed those votes. You can act as childish and smug as you’d like about it, but people will leave, and they will be the ones that pay the most in taxes. The schools will continue to decline. There will be fewer jobs to attract new people. That’s what the thread was about anyway…the loss in jobs, and the fact that the county is in a worse position than it was back when Amazon passed on MoCo. If anyone really thought that MoCo was in a great position all of these threads would be DOA and not full of defensive posts. |
Where are all of the threads from MoCo folks that are written for no other reason than to denigrate NoVa? Oh, that’s right… |
+100. Salty MoCo residents. Moco is a has been and isn't even the main driver of making jobs in MD anymore: https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/md-politics/prince-georges-has-overtaken-montgomery-as-top-job-creator-in-maryland-suburbs/2020/01/19/218c3646-38b6-11ea-bf30-ad313e4ec754_story.html |
Not in Fairfax County. Maybe parts of Loudoun |
| Losing Amazon is the least of MoCos problems. I'm from there. It's gone downhill. I left. I'm sure it's great if you are rich in Chevy Chase, Potomac, or Bethesda, or way out in like Damascus it's alright, but otherwise not so great anymore. For more average folk, NOVA is so much nicer and schools are generally safer too. |
| Based on all the Virginia plates I see in MoCo, clearly people in VA love it here. |
Yeah. They love to come here to fix your plumbing and then go back yo their home in VA where their job is located and where they pay taxes. |
People who don't even in live in Montgomery County sure are obsessed with Montgomery County. |
I have lived in both. I thought the traffic was worse in VA but it could have been just where I lived. I think they are very similar. I did not have kids in VA but mine did very well in Rockville schools. |
I literally see them parked at the park all the time. It's kind of weird. Doesn't VA have rec leagues for people? Why are people in Virginia always traveling to MD? |
| Unpopular opinion on this forum, but I'll actually be sad to see Elrich retire. He's been in office the whole time I've lived here and sort of personifies the Moco vibe. And yes, I live in Takoma Park. MoCo won't be MoCo without him... but I dont' see him running for (or winning) another term. |
Ive never been a fan of Elrich for many reasons, but with this council he is at least occasionally the adult in the room. We could do a lot worse, which is scary. |
