You don’t understand what “inflation rate” means. If prices are increasing less quickly, it means the inflation rate is down. It does not mean prices aren’t up from a previous time period.

Rate = rate of change. The rate of change in prices has decreased. That’s what “inflation rate” means.

I’d love to hear your explanation of why CPI shouldn’t be used. I’m sure you’ll convince economists to stop using it in dozens of macro and microeconomic metrics.

I don’t know, but I feel about her the same way you do. She’s fine, she’s pretty average for a politician.

A lot of the hatred I see spewed at her is clearly based in misogyny as evidenced by what the worst people say about her, the same way that the hatred that right wingers spew at Buttigieg is based largely in homophobia as evidenced again by what the loudest mouths say.

Actually now that I remember the connection with Buttigieg, I also remember that the loudest voices of homophobia are those that end up having the greatest response to gay porn, i.e., they’re hating something in themselves. Same thing with Harris. They hate/fear something about her that they hate/fear about themselves (even if that’s not a conscious response). It still sucks.

In a lot of ways it kind of had to happen that our first woman so close to the Oval would be forgettable. That’s the only way to slide someone past the regressives.

I adore Elizabeth Warren, think AOC is whip smart and admire Gov Whitmer.

But I find KH to have a very whiney voice. Maybe that is cosmetic and should be ignored, but it is unfortunate that she did not get speech coaching to lose that.

I also think her stands are progressive in a kneejerk rather than thoughtful/nuanced manner.
