Some of you crazy. There are bad people in every car company. I cried in the dealership as they were trying to rip me off few times, not only once. Id this piece of crap of mine dies, Tesla it is.
And yes, new cars got their prices cut, why buy used? who didn't know that. It's all over the news.

We have two Teslas - bought an X in 2016 and a 3 last year. We’re very liberal. Elon’s going off the deep end, but insisting that anyone who owns a Tesla has no ethics is comical. I mean, you realize that none of the big automakers would be producing EVs were it not for Tesla, right?

Tesla by far and away has the best charging network and the best batteries.

Go look up videos of other companies' EV performance while hauling or in cold weather. THEY SUCK.

You can hate on, but Tesla by far and away has the most experience at making batteries, and they're the best at it right now.

I have zero skin in the game and don't own an EV.

You know that EV wasn't an original idea, right? You should read up on the history of EVs.

Also, Tesla wouldn't have made it without CA subsidies, basically, paid for by CA taxpayers. And then he did a big FU to CA and moved to a state that had laws not favorable to sales of EVs because why? TX lawmakers are just as big of a douchebag as Musk is. People in CA started to hate him, and now hate him even more after the Twitter fiasco.

Why on earth would you support an outright douchebag?

No one is perfect, but there are degrees to being a first rate ahole. Like, I wouldn't vote for Trump. And I wouldn't buy a Tesla because it enriches Musk.

Sometimes a person can't help but buy a product because they don't have that many choices. But, now a days, there are so many other choices for an EV, why support a first rate ahole like Musk?

I hate musk but no one else can compete at the moment with teslas charging network (and I think also battery tech). Charging is so easy when driving distances — the car automatically will tell you where the best place to stop is to minimize the amount of time you are off the road. We had to unexpectedly drive a long distance this weekend due to a family emergency. We only had to do a 5 minute stop at a level 2 charger that was right off the highway to make it happen. We actually have two different EVs, and had another one before this. The Tesla kicks the others to the curb in terms of ease and speed of charging when on the road. It’s just so easy and convenient. It’s unfortunate but the other companies just are not there yet. I also love the Tesla app which tells you where the car is, how much charge it still has, etc.
Like PP, I also hate the touch screen but that seems to be popular with many brands now. Our other car (big 3 manufacturer) does not have any buttons/knobs either — it’s all touch screen. The Tesla has voice command so I can tell it “turn on radio” and it does — my other car does not have that so I do need to look at the touch screen.
We haven’t had any issues with servicing either. They come to our house. Less of a wait than with our other car when there was a recall.

We already bought the cars - we should sell them (at a loss, according to the people on this thread) and buy EVs with inferior charging networks to signal our own virtue? Please. I’m not that insecure that I need people’s validation.

My VW ID.4 has an app that tells you how much charge it has and voice command to change the temp or open the roof window etc. I haven't taken it long-distance yet so can't tell you about finding charging stations, but the absolute number of stations is catching up with Tesla really fast. I have to take it to Bethesda (a few miles away) for servicing, though.
