I hate musk but no one else can compete at the moment with teslas charging network (and I think also battery tech). Charging is so easy when driving distances — the car automatically will tell you where the best place to stop is to minimize the amount of time you are off the road. We had to unexpectedly drive a long distance this weekend due to a family emergency. We only had to do a 5 minute stop at a level 2 charger that was right off the highway to make it happen. We actually have two different EVs, and had another one before this. The Tesla kicks the others to the curb in terms of ease and speed of charging when on the road. It’s just so easy and convenient. It’s unfortunate but the other companies just are not there yet. I also love the Tesla app which tells you where the car is, how much charge it still has, etc. Like PP, I also hate the touch screen but that seems to be popular with many brands now. Our other car (big 3 manufacturer) does not have any buttons/knobs either — it’s all touch screen. The Tesla has voice command so I can tell it “turn on radio” and it does — my other car does not have that so I do need to look at the touch screen. We haven’t had any issues with servicing either. They come to our house. Less of a wait than with our other car when there was a recall.
My VW ID.4 has an app that tells you how much charge it has and voice command to change the temp or open the roof window etc. I haven't taken it long-distance yet so can't tell you about finding charging stations, but the absolute number of stations is catching up with Tesla really fast. I have to take it to Bethesda (a few miles away) for servicing, though.
