+1 but I do a big batch about once a week, put it in the fridge in individual portions. Each day, warm it up with some milk, top with cinnamon, nuts and dried cranberries.

Same, only I do it in the rice cooker. Love steel cut.

In a large, microwave safe bowl, mix 1/2 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of water, 1/2 cup of almond milk and 1/2 a ripe banana. Cook for 3 min on high. Once it's done, give it a good mix with a fork, add more water if it's too thick, then top with whatever you like. I like berries, nut butter, more banana, cinnamon.

Yum! We eat a lot of oatmeal. We make from scratch and it comes together in under ten minutes. I add ground flaxseed, cinnamon, diced apple, and brown sugar or syrup

Obviously lazier than all of you.

I open a packet of McCann’s Irish instant oatmeal into a bowl. Toss in dried cherries and whole milk. Microwave for 2 mins. Top with a nice scoop of brown sugar.

For the folks that do overnight oatmeal, do you eat it cold or heat up in morning?

Cold. I use rolled oats, milk, almond butter and cinnamon. Top with blueberries in the morning.

No, just no. Oatmeal should be hot. Cold oatmeal and this refrigerator overnight oat nonsense is wrong

I put frozen blueberries and walnuts and milk in my hot oatmeal…the frozen blueberries are so sweet no need for sugar.

I use Bob's Old fashioned rolled oats. I simply follow the stove directions, but after the water has absorbed, I add 1/2 cup of milk for the calcium and protein.
Additionally, while the oats are cooking, I add chia seeds, cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, vanilla extract, and only a small (1/2 teaspoon) of brown sugar. A pinch of cardamom and golden raisons can be nice too.

If I'm going to be in a hurry I do overnight oats

1/2 cup of Bob's (as above), 1 table spoon chia seeds, covered by 1/2 cup of milk, topped with 1/2 cup of plain yogurt and a drizzle of honey.

I will usually eat oatmeal with a side of berries or even put them on top.

My cholesterol is increasing as I age (I'm 52), so I am really focusing on soluble fiber and limiting some bad habits. Oatmeal has become almost daily for me.

Also agree that steel cut are the best for you, but I just can't. So have compromised with the old fashioned rolled oats. You can put some ground flaxseed in as well. I sometimes do that.

OP, I get the cracked oats from Hayden Flour Mills in AZ and I cook a 1/2 cup in the slow cooker for 1 hour with 50:50 water and milk. I refuse to buy any instant Quaker crap because it's all full of RoundUp. Yes, I'm bougie.

Similar. Make a batch on Sunday for the week in the instapot.
In the morning, heat water in teakettle, scoop a serving of the premade that is in the frig into a bowl. Add a bit of water from the tea kettle, stir and it’s warm and you can make it as thick or thin as you like. Add your toppings.

I’m sure you could portion in silicone molds and freeze too if you wanted to really make it quick for the am (could put in bowl overnight in frig to thaw?)

I make muesli: 3 parts oats to 1 part nuts (pecans and almonds) and .5 part seeds (sunflower and pumpkin), along with ground nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon (maybe .5 t each?). To eat, I mix it with yogurt, berries, maple syrup, and a little salt.

Steel cut. Soak them overnight so it doesnt take long. Add a spoonful of greek yoghurt and some fruit.

TBH I make oatmeal because of my cholesterol, not because I find it yummy. It's on the bland side unless you add brown sugar or maple syrup, which I usually do not. However, it's not bad, and it's healthy and filling. My recipe: 1/3 cup rolled oats, 1 TBS chia seed, 1 TBS flax seed, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, grated apple. 1/2 cup water. Mircowave for 60-90 seconds. Add milk to thin consistency.

For overnight oats, which are great during the hot summers, you need to add a lot more liquid than you think. For 1/2 cup of oats, you'll need 1 cup of liquid at least.
