I think it's possible your Yeti tumbler was a commentary on how easy or difficult it was to work with you. Perhaps she or he does not really want any repeat business from you? Considering the current downturn in the market that is a bit of a serious issue you might want to consider.

You sound like a realtor.

I'll take the yeti! I've always wanted one.

Couldn't agree more.. OP was given an advertisement for a realtor who probably made a killing selling their house. super cheesey

Nope - in all honesty, we were very easy to work with and the Agent did zero painting/staging, etc.

*painting of the house we moved from
*gift baskets
*good bottles of wine
*theater tix

It's not about the $$ spent, but the thought. I would take a $40 bottle of wine over an office branded yeti anyday.

You aren’t from the DC area, are you? No one wants a painting of their old house. LOL

I'm from the DC area and think a painting of the old house is an amazing gift.

We bought our house 20 years ago for 400K. We got a nice set of notecards with a line drawing of the new house from our realtor. It was so thoughtful.

I agree a branded tumbler is kind of insulting.

+1 Keep your yeti, cheap realtor!

We found our at our walk through just prior to closing that the seller didn't have the keys to several doors in the house, nor the garage door opener. Our realtor gift ended up being a locksmith to come open those doors, as the seller wasn't willing to pay to do so.

Bought with Redfin.

We got a rebate check for $5.5K and a Redfin keychain. That's it. To be fair, it's a pretty nice keychain and we use it for our guest keys!

I'd rather have that check than more chochkte junk.

We are in Dallas and our realtor gifted us a lovely gift hamper with wine, goodies , flowers and home furnishing items including a complete bed set. We loved her gesture. This was for a 500k house

Realtors are cheap. They are really bad tippers unless they worked in the industry before.
Your realtor is clueless.

We bought an almost 2 mil home and our realtor gave us three beautiful personalized blankets and sent over a landscaper to clean all the leaves in the yard and the gutters from our new house! We loved working with her, so we were not expecting anything, but we really loved her thoughtful gifts!

OP -- it sounds like you should have done FSBO or at least found an agent who would rebate part of the commission. I get how it's easy to feel cheated when you fork over 5% (or $100K in this case), but really, that's on you for not searching out ways to avoid that 5%.

Ignore the troll, OP. Your realtor was foolish to pass up the chance to get more business from referrals, especially from a client with neighbors in a $2M neighborhood.
