$2M Sale and realtor thanked us with a Yeti.

I love my tumblers.

For my $450k house I got a gorgeous flower arrangement, a $300 gift card to a great restaurant, and a bottle of champagne.

OP, give us your address so we can drop off our tumblers.

Sounds like you weren’t a very valued client. What happened?

I love Yeti tumblrs.

OP, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you were likely the kind of client who deserved no gift.

Be grateful that you got something. Thank your agent for selling the house.

Team OP. A branded tumbler as a closing gift is super cheesy. Nothing would've been better that that!

Never expected a gift but for three houses we’ve gotten: a gift basket of decorated cookies ( delicious), gift card to a restaurant, and a online art generated pic of house. Really lovely of these realtors.

+1 There are other inexpensive gifts that would have been better and more thoughtful. It was foolish of the realtor. They could have received good references for a basket of gourmet chocolates or cookies.

The online generated picture of the house sounds really cool. Could you share the company that does this?

That sucks! Our realtor gave us a generous gift card to our favorite lawn and garden store - enough for a nice tree! She and my husband bonded over gardening. Honestly, just having her schedule and coordinate staging, painting, inspections, landscaping clean up, windows, deck power washing, and all the other little things - most of which she paid for - was worth more than a few hundred dollar gift card.

The title company gave us a Yeti tumbler AND a bottle of wine. And a cheap pen.

I got a beautiful little framed art picture of the house once too, that was a good gift. Most recently I bought an inexpensive condo and the realtor gave me a basket with dishtowels, a coffee mug and other assorted housewarming type gifts, I appreciated it very much.

I think it's possible your Yeti tumbler was a commentary on how easy or difficult it was to work with you. Perhaps she or he does not really want any repeat business from you? Considering the current downturn in the market that is a bit of a serious issue you might want to consider.

I too would rather receive nothing than a branded Yeti (assuming we’re talking about a Yeti bottle and not a fancy Yeti cooler).

It's a tumbler!!

This realtor is clueless or hates you.

OP: I agree with you that nothing would have been better. (Gifts that include a cheap pen are also tacky and unwanted.)

Usually, the best gift that a realtor can give to a listing client are great photos of the home for sale and a written narratives that recognizes--and uses--paragraphs.

I mean, if it were a size that I wanted, I'd be fine with that. We sold our last home for $850K and got a wooden cutting board with the realtor's company on it. I wasn't offended, just irritated that the size was odd so it was difficult to actually use.

*painting of the house we moved from
*gift baskets
*good bottles of wine
*theater tix

It's not about the $$ spent, but the thought. I would take a $40 bottle of wine over an office branded yeti anyday.

You aren’t from the DC area, are you? No one wants a painting of their old house. LOL
