Pajamas pants or super casual for school pickup/dropoff

I think it's weird AF for a grown woman to be out in PJ's. If that matters, but I don't know why it would.

I’m all for sweats and leggings, but anything recognizable as “pajama pants” shouldn’t be worn outside the house. Chances are the same thing in black will just read as pants so wear that.

While this is true, I would say they notice. I’m mean - pajama pants?! How lazy can you be? Pull on black leggings, joggers or yoga pants. But rolling out of bed and going to your kids school? People don’t care what op does, but that doesn’t mean s/he’s not leaving an impression.

What is the f-ing difference? None, really. Do you have an IQ of 5?

Someone needs to send a notice about the unsuitability of this to all the college and HS girls out there running around in their plaid pj pants. The horror! The horror!

LOL. You people need to get lives.

Says the person dropping f bombs.

The difference is effort, self respect, respect for your kids as you are making an impression on the people in their lives. Again, I don’t care, but don’t pretend people don’t notice.

Gross. Do you get back into bed with those nasty pj pants on?

If this is your bar, not interested in your opinion of me. You have a narrow view of what constitutes self-respect. So shallow. I'm more interested in your character, the meaningful things you do with your lives, the way you treat those kids and those teachers. The fact that pj pants is a deal-breaker for you suggests you lack real compassion or character.

I'm quite sure the teachers prefer the nice lady in her pj pants who thanks them and is respectful than the dolled-up mom constantly demanding this or that for her snowflake.

Our society has wasted time on this stuff for too long.

Good lord. ‘Deal breaker’? I said people notice. And they do. And they always will. Always.

Do your thing. I sometimes wear my "good" sweatpants, but only if I need to be pulled together on a zoom call after drop off
Some people work out before or after drop off and wear workout leggings, some people have real life meetings and wear adult clothing, some are pajama at home warriors (me included) or wear hang out leggings. Do your thing parent! Just do the drop off line correctly and you are good!

Agree with this. Yes, I judge anyone over the age of 4 wearing pajamas in public. Its sloppy and weird. Buy a few pair of well fitting black joggers and start wearing those with a tshirt or sweater. It does make a difference.

I do not allow my children to wear pajamas in public either.

Don't kid yourself. People are judged by how they dress and look in public. No makeup, okay. Pajama bottoms and uncombed hair, I would want to be avoid you because, even if you don't, you look as though you don't bathe frequently and probably stink.

Laziness is not an admirable trait.

It’s a statistical fact that accidents most occur within five miles of the home, so I always dress for the just in case moment I might be in one. Decent clothes and always shoes!

Amen. The amount of money and time women waste to look a certain way for strangers is mind boggling. It only matters because people choose to keep thinking that it matters.

Why is wearing pj pants lazy? Can't it be a conscious choice for comfort? We're not talking about avoiding basic hygiene here.

BTW, being shallow is not admirable either.
