So you're saying you don't go to a gym or ever see active people biking, running, hiking or doing anything outside?

Yes, as I said, I would wear one doing laundry or cleaning around the house. Or running or hiking. OP said a pony tail makes her look like she's going to work out. She wanted a "classy" pony tail to wear to work. Sorry, no.

Most women who never have their hair up are hiding something (usually some unfortunate features).

Agreed.

Stupidest comment of all time.

I don't think that comment is true, but people with great bone structure can get away with less hair around their face, for sure. I know some women who don't have great facial features but have nice hair, and they definitely (understandably) lean into that, growing their hair out and poofing it around their face. If they got a pixie, they wouldn't look very good.

WTF? Do you NEVER workout, watch women's sports, go to an exercise class?

I see pony tails on all ages every single day.

Alex Morgan rocks a great pony tail on the field. She uses a head band to keep it smooth.

OP said "Classy" and something that would look professional at work. Working out, exercise class, sports don't count. Read the post before you get all irate.

A low-slung pony tail (w/out scrunchy ) is going to look classier at work then loose hair.

I think the secret to the beautiful pony is that they go through all the motions of fixing hair, blowing it out, and even curling. then it is nice and smooth and fixed. You can't just pull your non blown out frizzy hair in a pony and look like JLO (who looks awesome in a pony and i'm jealous!)

I have the frizzy hair, so I feel your pain. If you have fine, pin straight hair, then you could do it easily with not much work.

I’ve seen stuff like this but I have fine, thin hair (not enough to do this).

I have 1/10 the hair she does.

Yes, to all this. It gets complicated when you have layered hair and the pony is different lengths with pieces sticking out. Young women with one length hair can pull it off effortlessly. The rest of us require too much work for this meant-to-be easy style. Many celebrities in ponies are actually wearing hair pieces.

I have very straight hair. I get compliments when I do a small braid at the front, using what would be bangs, if I had bangs. Then pull that braid back into the ponytail and wrap it. I can't find a good photo, because most of what is online is teased or has big curls.

Even if you don't use a braid, I like the wrapped look. Smooth, straight hair.
