Secret to classy Pony tail?

Anonymous
OP, do you have a photo of what you’re considering classy?

I don’t know how classy mine is, but I have curly hair and go from a loose, low (actual, not messy) bun to low ponytail regularly. The ponytail on a day after a bun is the best, similar to what I think a pp said…natural bounce and neat & smooth waves that stay nice all day.

So you're saying you don't go to a gym or ever see active people biking, running, hiking or doing anything outside?

Yes, as I said, I would wear one doing laundry or cleaning around the house. Or running or hiking. OP said a pony tail makes her look like she's going to work out. She wanted a "classy" pony tail to wear to work. Sorry, no.

Pp said she hasn’t seen one in 20 years. That’s weird.

Here is the Classiest Person Alive (per DCUM) wearing what looks to me like very office-appropriate ponytail.

I don’t really have the answer but I think it involves multiple clips. I used to have a really great one that was just a tortoishell plastic and if I put it on over a bLack elastic it sort of flattened the pony tail and it looked much more professional. Sadly I lost it and I have never seen a similar since. Most have those awful alligator clips that rip your hair. But I think you need an stretchy elastic to hold it, and then something else to secure it and give it better shape. Agree mid hesd not too high or low.

So, you're not a pony tail fan?

I love you!

Most women who never have their hair up are hiding something (usually some unfortunate features).

Agreed.

Really? I never knew this! I wear mine up in a messy French twist for lack of a better name but I also noticed that usually everyone else has hair down.

My hair is super straight, fine and prone to oiliness - and if I leave it down, it gets incredibly stringy and oily. The alternative is a shorter cut, but that gets so boring for me. So I wear mine up most of the time. Not only does the hair itself look better up (not stingy and oily) but having my hair up is much more flattering on my face.

I’ve seen stuff like this but I have fine, thin hair (not enough to do this).

I think you have to wrap your hair around the band and secure with a pin. That’s what magazines always recommend for a “polished ponytail.”

NP. The person in the video looks to have an insane amount of product in her hair and it was curled & styled before being pulled back. I think it’s a lot of work! I think it is a hairdo 2nd or 3rd day hair… daily dry shampoo for texture, hairspray, etc.

I love the Kim Wexler look! That's the one I'd want to sport!

Have thick hair and a nice hairline. That's the secret.
