Can't wait to go in person again. Virtual back to school night was virtually nothing |
It helps with so many issues except for the part where it was useless. Send a slide deck in an email and people can email questions if they have them or have us in person. The virtual versions were a waste of time. Our middle school one was recordings from the teachers anyway. They would get online live to tell you they were about to play a recording. |
I’d rather not have to find parking, and do back-to-school night in my pjs while I pack lunches. |
No, in person BTSN sucks. Zero value to have it in person. |
I’ve never seen them outside looking sad or lonely. They’re either with a parent or in the cafeteria with friends. I certainly wouldn’t skip and probably wouldn’t hire a sitter for that type of thing either. |
I told my school if they have something worth telling me send it home in a folder, call me, or send it in the mail. Otherwise I don’t care and it won’t happen. Back to school night must be a joke because I’ve yet to get anything sent to me after it happens. Sounds like a waste of precious family time. |
+1. What a profoundly stupid question. |
Nope. It wasn't useless. You're just inflexible. Oh well. |
The attitudes in this thread are unbelievable. Way to be partners in your child’s education. Sorry you find back ti school night virtual worthless. Or in person worthless. You’re right, you and your child are just too good to participate in anything that isn’t 100% tailored to your specific needs. |
Oh wow. We have had no information on kids not being there. We’re just into second grade so it’s our first in person back to school night. |
Which school? We haven’t head anything. |
It’s really for the parents. So either one parent stays home, or you find a sitter. Or you can skip it too. It’s certainly not required. |
So don't go. Problem solved. |
We definitely both want to be there. May switch out turns and have kid at playground. For us it’s important. But it’s very last minute notice for our regular sitters. |
I don't like the recordings either. But I have had teachers at in person back to school nights just play videos too. If I'm just going to watch a video I sure don't want to go in person to do that, would rather sit on my couch in my PJs. |
